Chapter V
"What are you doing in my room, foreigner ka diba (Are you a foreigner)?" asked Althea, the Doctor meanwhile didn't listen to her, instead continuing to sip some tea, Althea made a little whimpering noise that made the Doctor spill some tea, staining his light brown tweed coat, the Doctor looked at her, frowning, "What seemed to be the problem? Is it because of my tea? Oh! Is it because of the blue box eh?" replied the Doctor pointing to his space-time ship behind him, Althea then closed the door behind her, staring at both the Doctor and the TARDIS while the Doctor puts his tea inside his pocket as though it was bigger on the inside, the steaming smoke can be seen on his right pocket, "The problem is concerning about you. Who are you, where did you come from, and what is that blue phone booth behind you?" asked Althea again, with a stern voice, the Doctor stood up smiling, "Ah...." He said while clapping three times which made Althea look at the door behind her, wondering if someone will open her door any time, "The three W's, who, where, and what? Not including the how but still... I'm the Doctor; I come from the planet Gallifrey, and this." The Doctor said while patting the blue box beside him "Is my TARDIS, which stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space, it is a time and space machine by the way." The Doctor replied. Althea seemed to be bothered about him referencing his name, his home planet, and his space-time vehicle. "What do you mean by your name as the doctor? Doctor who exactly?" asked Althea, the Doctor sighed at hearing her mention 'who' after his name, "Ahh yes, Doctor who, doctor what, doctor how and when, seemed to be the most annoying part whenever I hear or think about it." Said the Doctor, sighing and reached out a piece of jelly baby in his left pocket, "Listen... mister Doctor, none of which you're talking is quite real, it's just what people made up in their mind like stories that are fantasy, wala sa mga sinasabi mong totoo (None of which you say is true)." Answered Althea, the Doctor chewed his jelly baby and swallowed it directly, "My dear... all of which I say and which came directly from my mouth is true, which in fact can be 'false' at first, but 'true' when you find it out." Said the Doctor, while the steam is still flowing upwards in his right pocket, though in his last and final days living in his 7th incarnation, he still lived out his life full of wisdom and trickery, Althea then went a little near to him, the Doctor still smiling changed the topic between him and Althea, "So... here's why I'm here, I'm here to solve a weird and mysterious yet horrifying case.... Hmm, something revolving about some monsters with a taste of human flesh isn't it? Aswangs right?" said the Doctor, Althea blinked a couple of times while looking at her untied shoes and sighed, "Well those aswangs, they are mythological, and for some odd reason they seemed to like appear out of nowhere eating every single Filipinos in Manila, including here in Cavite City." She said, shivering while blurting out the name 'aswangs', the Doctor frowned and rubbed his chin with his right hand, "So... any idea about these aswangs happening now?" asked the Doctor, Althea looked at him and looked back down on the floor, "No... no new information yet, they only appear once every night." Answered Althea, then both of them were quiet, while muffling sounds of voices can be heard in either walls in Althea's room, until a weird humming noise can be heard in the TARDIS, "Well, since you're here, now's the perfect time to show you something else." Said the Doctor happily, Althea sighed and folded her arms and shook her head disapprovingly, the Doctor turned on his heel and went towards the TARDIS's right door unlocking it, he went inside while Althea stood confused and walked towards the TARDIS facing in front of the face of the police box, "You'd expect me to be inside that booth with you?" called out Althea, expecting the interior to be smaller however the Doctor answered her, this time his voice echoed as though he were in a cathedral, "Yes, yes... that's how people might say when they first meet my TARDIS, now come inside, don't worry." Althea took a step backward, would she do it? Is it bigger than her expectations? Or is it just a lie? She sighed sharply, and went inside the police box, as soon as the door closed behind her, the TARDIS made a loud humming noise.
Althea stared in awe and shock at the interior of the box, one word can describe how much it really is on her point of view, "It's....it's – it's bigger on the inside!" said Althea, she looked around, the whole place was darker but was lit with candles and lights, all dim but not that bright, the interior doesn't contain any roundels (like the past incarnations of the Doctor used to have), instead it contains a wooden floor with the ceiling covered with a thick wall, some extra details include the Doctor's hatstand, the gramophone (still playing 'I called out your name' by Pat Hodges), a piano, a small library located in the small alcove, candles with melted wax, and statues located on either side on the entrance of the TARDIS and above the main doors contains the Prydonian Seal or the Seal of Rassilon. The Doctor can be seen in the console, looking at Althea while going down a few steps of stairs, smiling he went round to the console and the bright blue glow of the TARDIS's central column is reflecting on the shiny wooden floor, "So... my dear, what else would you expect? Hmm, A small interior?" said the Doctor, Althea stood there and looked directly at the Time Lord, "How is it bigger on the... inside, than it is on the outside?" said Althea, the Doctor smiled cheerfully, "Dimensional engineering... More of, like Time Lord Technology I suppose." Said the Doctor, Althea looked around again, the Doctor spun around and pressed something, which made the TARDIS's column brighter, this time Althea looked at him again, "Are you an alien?" asked Althea, the Doctor's smile faded and a shadow was cast on his face, "Yes... of course I am, a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey." Answered the Doctor, remembering all his faults he did in Gallifrey, the 7th Doctor remembered them all, "And... I didn't actually get your name my dear, in fact you haven't introduced to me yet." replied the Doctor, Althea snapped back, and introduced her name to the Doctor, "Althea... interesting name..." answered the Doctor.
