Every night she would have the same dream, a dream accompanied by restless moans and an unquiet body that knew not the meaning of peace.
It was a dream like no other, a dream comprised of preposterous and inane horrors never before seen in the real world. It was a dream, a nightmare of monsters, demons with the white eyes and the clear wings, and yet the worse thing wasn't the monsters themselves, it was the stain of crimson, the streams of endless blood and dead bodies, that was the true horror.
"NO!" The girl yelled as she awoke from bed, throwing the covers off of her sweat-covered body.
Julie May knew that she would not get one moment of soothing sleep, it seemed to be inevitable that the same nightmare that had plagued her dreams since she was five years old would still continue to haunt her to this day.
Julie brushed the dripping sweat from her brow as she struggled to catch her breath. "God dammit." She whispered to herself as she slowly got out of bed.
It was 6:30 am and Julie's room was filled to the brim with the cold air that heralded the coming morning. Julie hated the cold, she hated the numbness that touched her skin, and yet she would not go back to sleep, no, she would get ready for school.
Julie ploddingly got dressed, the bags under her eyes ever present. She combed her long black hair, she brushed her pearly white teeth and got dressed in casual clothes along with her favorite gray hoodie. Soon, with her backpack over her shoulder, Julie exited her room and leisurely walked into the dining room, where her mother was making breakfast.
Julie sat down at the dining room table and rubbed her eyes trying to remove the drowsiness and fatigue as a yawn escaped her lips.
"And good morning to you too." Julie's mom, Jennifer May, said as she walked towards the table holding a plate full of scrambled eggs, beacon, as well as two pieces of toast.
"You're up early." Jennifer said as she sat down next to her daughter.
Julie rubs her temples. "Yea I couldn't sleep."
"The same dream?"
Julie nodded her head. "Yes, like always I "dream of dead people."
Jennifer rubs her daughter's shoulders. "You are taking your medication aren't you?"
"I hate taking it, I don't want to seem like some kinda crazy person." Julie said, annoyed.
"Julie, there is nothing wrong with..."
"Yea, whatever." Julie said, cutting her mother off.
Julie stood up and walked towards the front door. She didn't want to listen to her mother's wants and desires, nor did she feel like being comforted like a weak person.
