She ran with the utmost hast through the crowds of people who blocked her path. She never stopped running as her eyes darted in every direction.
Julie with her long brown hair in a ponytail held only one desire. "Trevor where are you?" She spoke words of worry as she continued to run through the city.
She remembered Ms. Sanchez words and with every step she took those words seemed to dig ever deeper into her souls.
FLASHBACK
"What do you mean that something is wrong with Trevor?" Julie asked as she clutched her phone, drawing it ever closer to her ear.
Ms. Sanchez for a moment went silent, and yet still Julie could hear her ragged breathing as if someone was strangling her.
"Trevor for a few days has seemingly become a different person."
Julie could hear Ms. Sanchez tearing up as she spoke about her son. "Different how?"
"Well over the past few days, he has grown more aggressive, letting his anger take full control over the most minute things." Ms. Sanchez said. "He's been staying up late at night sitting in his room, in the dark. He barely eats, and when he does, most of the food is raw and barely cooked."
Julie couldn't believe what she was hearing. She thought about the Trevor she had met this morning, none of these things where things that Trevor would do.
"The worst part..." Ms.Sanchez continued. "The worst part is the scratch marks on his wrists, back and neck. Julie he's hurting himself."
Julie could hear the fear in Ms. Sanchez voice and as she ran, she began to feel fear as well.
She hung up and quickly and put the phone in her pocket. She didn't need to hear any more, she needed to find her friend.
***
Four men stood huddled together hidden in the darkness that the side streets offered as they all partook in the sinful wonders that a small cigarette could provide.Their very clothes smelled of smoke and alcohol, their very eyes where stained red with disorder. To any other onlooker these men would look like they had just got out of bed as their hair, shirt, and pants where disheveled.
"Eren are you still going out with that girl." One of the men said as she stuck a burning cigarette in his mouth.
"Bro that girl was a bitch, not even worth my time."
"For real man, I thought she was a bad bitch."
"Na, she comes with way to much baggage, man I don't got time for that."
"Alright, alright how about we stop talk about our women troubles, and get back to getting high."
"Yea. I can get behind that."
The four men laughed out loud as they stood enjoying each other's company, not realizing the danger that walked towards them from behind.
"Hey who the hell is that?" One of the men said as the cigarette hung loosely in between his fingers.
