The next morning Gajeel left everyone at Jellal's house to see Lily at the hospital. He walked in his room and nodded to the doctor.
"Well, Mr. Pantherlily, you've made a remarkable recovery in a short amount of time. So, with a weeks rest, you can be discharged and go home." The doctor smiled and nodded to Gajeel before leaving.
"I asked the doctor if he knew any doctors of by the name of McGarden. He said he hadn't heard that name in almost a year." Lily sighed, while Gajeel nodded and sat down. "The hell are you still doin here?" He questioned. Gajeel furrowed his brows, looking at him. Lily rolled his eyes and shook his head. "You've still got the whole city to search. And in a few days. Get the others and get goin." He ordered.
"No way old man. It's my fault your in here, ain't no way I'm leavin you alone." Gajeel said stubbornly. Lily sat up and grabbed the front of Gajeel's shirt, yanking him to his feet.
"You stubborn little brat! Get your ass out there, and find your girl! Don't make me put you in here with me, you hear?!" He growled. "I'll be in here by the time you gotta leave for the next town. Tell me the town after next and I'll met you there." He said sternly.
"Since when did you become my dad?" Gajeel grinned and shook Lily off of him. "We should be in Crocus. If not, check Hargeon." He said and reached to grab something from behind him. "Here. Forgot to give you this last night." He handed Lily his gun. Lily frowned but nodded. "Keep it. You might need it out there." He said.
"But you might need it in here." Gajeel argued. Lily shook his head again and pushed it back in his hands.
"I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to kill me in a hospital. Besides, if someone does come for me, I can handle it." He smirked up at Gajeel.
"If you could handle it, you wouldn't be in this room right now." Gajeel said grimly. Lily sighed and shook his head again, crossing his arms.
"Jose got the jump on me. Like the doc said, I'll be fine. Now go, before I throw you out the dammed window." Lily said and shoved Gajeel towards the door. The younger man rolled his eyes and left Lily alone in his room, laughing loudly. A nurse came in a few minutes after Gajeel left to check on Lily.
"Sir, there's a phone call for you." She smiled and handed him a big portable phone.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Daddy?" Carla's voice called through the phone.
"Carla? Sweetie, how did you find me? Are you alright, is your momma safe?" He asked."Yeah daddy, mommas safe. Someone called and told us you were hurt in the hospital, are you alright?! They gave us the name, just not the town." She exclaimed. He could hear the TV in the background and her mother talking in the kitchen, probably to some friends.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." He chuckled. "Who gave you the number?" He asked, finding it strange someone talked to them, he knew it wasn't Gajeel or the Dragneel boys.
"She said she was a friend. She couldn't talk very long, but she also said she knew Ms. Levy." Carla said. "Daddy, when are you coming home?" She asked. He sighed and rubbed his face.
"I'm not sure when I'm coming home. But I need you to tell me exactly what this woman said." He said sternly.
"She said that she was helping you find Levy with Gajeel, Natsu and Happy. And that she was your friend." Carla said. "Why? Is she bad or something?" She asked worriedly.
"No, I think I know who it is. Thank you, pumpkin." He smiled when she giggled and he could hear Shagotte in the background.
"Oh, momma said she wants to talk to you." Carla said and handed the phone to his wife.
