Not even a week after the summer vacation starts, Laura gets an owl from Malfoys, inviting her for a cup of tea. They are a little bit too favor her, after knowing Lucius Malfoy, Draco's dad is behind everything that happened last year, Laura doesn't want to be close to that family, not for now. Laura knows Draco is innocent, he couldn't know anything thing, anything important, but who knows, after he grows up, his parents must tell him everything one day, and one day, he will become just like them, and if you-know-who come back, he might become a death eater. It's already been a year Laura knows the full prophecy, from her mom's Pensieve. She is the goddaughter of you-know-who, little people know that, and they still keep it secretly. It will be the third year of her Hogwarts year after two months of summer vacation, and Laura is now very sure about her godfather is still alive, not strong as before, but he isn't gone. She is a little mess about the whole thing after what happened last year, and what Dumbledore had told her, so Laura decided to stay away from Malfoys for a while. She wrote back to Mr. Malfoy and Draco, saying she is going back to France during the vacation.

To finish watching all the memories in Pensieve, Laura didn't come back to France for her grand last summer, she told her it is about school works. Laura is happy to back to France, to be frank, at that time she can temporarily forget everything about her secret family background. Her Gryffindor friend, Hermione Granger will come to France with her muggles parents for a few weeks, which also please Laura. She stayed in France for over a month, and she also gets her Hogwarts letter in France, she doesn't need to go to the Diagon alley at all, she already has almost all the required books for the new term except The Monster Book of The Monsters, Laura had never heard of this book, neither does her grandma, but Hermione says she can bring one more for her because her friend Hagrid already gave her one, and she will go to the Diagon alley to buy other books.

Laura says goodbyes with her grand after Hermione and her family left France a week ago, the chimney in her grand's house has a little magic problem, so her grand told her where to find a portkey to the Ottery St. Catchpole, Laura only have to walk for fifteen minutes to get to the Swift Maison. It's in the urban of Paris, and Laura sees a few tourists there, waiting to come back to England, and she recognizes one face. Cedric Diggory, fifth grade, Hufflepuff, and their house's seeker, maybe a prefect, Laura wasn't sure, but she had heard of some girls talking about him, he is quite handsome. And who is talking to him, the man must be his father. Laura had never talked to this guy and she thinks he won't recognize her, so she didn't greet him, instead, she walks past him. "Hey, you go to Hogwarts, right?" the boy greets her. "Hello," Laura answers surprisingly, "I'm Cedric Diggory." "I know." Laura smiles, forgetting she shouldn't say that, she doesn't want Diggory to think she is in his fan club, she doesn't know but she bet Diggory must have a fan club. "Ced, is that your friend?" his dad asks, "Ugh..." no, they are not friends, Cedric doesn't know how to introduce Laura to his dad. "Laura Swift, sir, I go to Hogwarts too." "Of course you are! I know your mother," which is funny, Laura doesn't remember she saw this guy in her mom's memory. "Amos Diggory." He shakes his hands with Laura, "So...how long did you know each other, you've never told me you got such a beautiful friend, Ced." Cedric blushes his face. "We just met, dad." He looks at his dad and says, "She is the only third year this term." How does he know? And just after he said that Cedric Diggory finds that he shouldn't know about that. "Well, I'd hear of you a little." What did he hear? Laura is always being low pitch, and she doesn't think he knows about the prophecy. "I hope a good thing?" Laura asks with a worried tongue, but Cedric gives her a complicated facial expression. "Want me to be honest?" he asks. "Please." "I saw you fighting with the Parkinson girl two years ago." That's not a good first impression, and Laura is aware of how bad her face looks like now, cause Cedric adds, "I heard what happened, so I don't blame you." Laura still says no word, at least his father is chatting with others, didn't hear a thing. "But you were scary, you know." He laughs, trying to make the conversation easy. "Brilliant but scary." Laura laughs with him, that's too awkward for her. They chatted for a while, Laura finds comfortable chatting with him, and then his father back, asking Laura about her life in France and Cedric just listening. They use the portkey to look like a boot together as they have the same definition. However, Diggory's place is farther than the distance between the portkey and the Swift Maison. Saying goodbyes with Mr. Diggory, "See you at school,..." Cedric Diggory is not sure how to call Laura properly, "You can call me Laura." "Then call me Cedric." It's weird to Laura because Cedric is the fifth year and she is only third, but they can have a nice conversation incredibly. "See you at school then, Cedric."
