I pushed the platter away unable to eat anything. I was more than disturbed that Valentino hadn't come home from his deadly mission of executing my father.
Not a word from him.
"Please eat something." Viola begged almost on the verge of crying herself.
I didn't blame her. It was her son for crying out loud.
"You should go and be with your husband Mrs. Bianchi. I'm sure he's in much pain as well." I told her turning my back and slumping down in my bed.
Carlo's two sons were missing.
"Lydia, are you going to starve yourself and my baby? I'm sure Valentino's ok. Probably their communication devices were just destroyed." Viola voiced.
Instead of listening to her I got up off my bed and headed to the closet where Valentino's items were kept and pulled out a duffle bag finding exactly what I needed.
I heard Viola gasped.
"What are you doing with that Lydia?!"
"I'm going to get information." I responded to her while leaving the room.
"Lydia you've never used a gun in your life before! What if Sergio comes home and see's that you've gone ballistic and killed one of his highest prisoners? Sergio will be forced to kill you and then Valentino is going to run a mock and start shooting everyone." Viola expressed.
"I don't care." I carried on heading into the direction of where the prisoners are kept.
"Guards stop her!" Viola shouted.
"I don't know how to use a gun so if I get shot because of anyone of you trying to stop me, I'm telling Valentino." I threatened pointing the gun at my foot and making the guards stop in their places.
I rolled my eyes walking away.
"A bunch of mafia men and you all are afraid of a mere pregnant woman! What happens if she gets hurt and you all could've done something to stop her? You better prepare for your deaths when Valentino hears of it!" Viola shouted enraged.
I stood for a few seconds seeing watching which one would dare make a move, but none did.
"We would help madam but having her shoot herself would certainly assure our deaths." One of the guards answered.
"Smart." I mumbled before walking away.
"Idiots." Viola mumbled strolling along behind me.
"Could you at least hold the gun right. How are you going to threaten someone with a gun while holding it like a retard?" Viola sighed wearily.
This is all Valentino's fault! Instead of teaching me how to use a gun he decided a bread knife would be better!
"This might get messy Viola. I think you should go back to Carlo before you get shot and he kills me." I marched on my way to the dungeon.
"I'm not going anywhere especially after knowing my granddaughter might be in danger. You're starving her plus Carlo is busy trying to locate my sons who would be very disappointed in knowing I let you harm Isabella."
I held up my hand pointing the gun to my two stepsisters head while they stayed inside their cells with horrified faces.
Thier face had been completely battered and I felt nothing but rage for them as I gazed at their stupid faces.
"Woah, put that gun down before you shoot someone you crazy bitch!" Violet ran to the corner of the cell in hopes of me not shooting her.
"That's the idea if I don't get what I want. Mind you I don't know how to shoot so it would be best to give me what I want before I get angry and mistakenly pull the trigger." I pointed the gun at the two smugly.
It was my time to laugh at their pathetic faces.
"The other day you two said not to underestimate Romano. What the hell were you two talking about?"
"Romano knew the Bianchi's were closing in on him and instead of running and building his alliance once again. He decided instead to set traps around his location. Just like Valentino did to disable father's men."
"What kind of trap?" I urged her to continue.
"Bombs. He wired bombs around his location that only he knew about. Father killed the only one he thought knew about his plan. Fortunately for us we knew about it too. There's a device that can detect all bombs on site but only Romano has that device." Viola confessed and my hands trembled hearing her words.
"But how did you two get out?"
"Our father didn't know we knew about his little plan. As I said before apart from the guy father killed who installed the bombs my sister and I knew and had managed to mark where the bombs were buried. One wrong move and those bombs go off, your dead." Violet added smugly forgetting that I was pointing the gun to her.
Seeing how happy she was I got angry and closed my eyes while pulling the trigger. Shortly after I heard Violet's scream. I opened my eyes to see she had gotten shot in the arm.
I smiled seeing her in pain. Something about being messed with and the fact that Valentino might be dead made their pain enjoyable.
And so, I turned the gun towards my other stepsister Viola smiling.
"I'll enjoy this."
"Lydia Valentino never wanted for you to go down this path. Don't you think that you're betraying his trust?"
It was then that I remembered Valentino's words and decided against harming her. I could also see Viola's fear.
A few guards immediately came rushing in to see what had exactly happened after hearing the gunshot.
"I can feel it that Valentino's still alive. You better hope my conscience is right you two because if something was to ever happen him, I'm coming back to shoot you right in the head." I snapped before walking away.
I handed my gun to one the guards before leaving to my room.
I don't know how long I had been crying for until I fell asleep. I woke up to a small soft voice calling me and my body slowly being shaken.
"Lydia." Viola shook me back and forth waking me up out of a very tormenting sleep.
"What is it, Viola?" I questioned hearing her voice.
My head was hurting, and my eyes were puffy and sore from crying a lot but whatever Viola wanted sounded urgent.
"Sergio and a few others made it home safely but there's something I have to tell you. You need to prepare for what I have to say to you Lydia." Viola's frightening words rang in my ear.
