I gasped and pulled my hand from him. "I have to become a vampire?"
I knew too well what went into that. I would have to...
"Yes, sweetheart, you'd have to die." Klaus cleared his throat, looking to the floor. "On the bright side, you can choose your mode of death! We have very painless options..."
"I don't care if it's painless!" I cried. "Then...you want painful options?"
"Are you stupid? No! I want no death!"
"But, darling," Vincent gently stroked the back of my hand. "It's tradition for human lovers."
"And? Your tradition has nothing to do with me."
"Orion." Klaus' voice commanded me to turn back around and look at him. "Tell me, do you want to die at a young age from diseases? Coups? Do you want to live until you're old, wrinkly, on the edge of death, and breaking not only my heart but Vincent's?" He moved closer to me and held both my hands in his, staring me in the eyes.
"I..."
"Think about it, sweetheart." He released one of my hands to gently stroke my face with one of his thumbs. "You mean the world to us, but if you truly want to leave us early, not be with us forever, we will understand your decision. It may hurt, but this is about you."
He was so good at convincing. I don't know who he inherited that honeyed tongue from, but it definitely worked on me.
"You're going to make such a good King." We were all frightened by the sudden appearance of dad.
"Thanks. First I got to rope the queen."
"I'm not a woman, Klaus." He came closer and pinched my cheeks between his fingers. "Of course, I know that. You have a dick, I've touched it before." Vincent coughed. "But, our darling, you must be aware of what happens. I promise we'll be by your side every step of the way. You will never have to worry because you have the two strongest men in the nation watching your back. No one will ever get close enough to harm you."
"Agh, you two make it so hard for me to reject this random death wheel. What's the most painless way?"
"We drain you of all your blood and feed you ours. Easy peasy. And pleasurable, it's definitely better than anything else I can think of."
"Also, it's kind of passionate, don't you think? According to the vampire romance books I read."
Klaus and I whipped around to stare dumbfoundedly at Vincent. "You read what?/You wanna run that by me again, shortie?" Klaus and I blurted at the same time. "Sorry." He apologized. "Ah, nothing, you must've heard me wrong. I said 'Also, it's kind of passionate, don't you think? According to the vampire handbook I've read."
"You liar, you said, vampire romance books. What exactly does this entail? Are we talking about adult vampire fiction romances or teen vampire romances?"
"I mean, does it really matter? We're getting off-topic here. This is about our beloved. What do you say, darling? Are you down to do it?"
"If you're sure it painless, then yeah. I don't want to cry too much on my wedding day."
"Okay, now that we're done with that topic, let's get back to Vincent's books. Tell me, is it a high school romance but one has a deadly secret, or is it a beautiful woman who recently divorced and finds a stranded man in the rain with naughty fangs?"
"What makes you think they're straight?" Vincent scowled. "Oh, my bad. An extra sexy, played by a very straight guy in the movie recently divorced and finds a stranded man in the rain with naughty fangs."
"No. It's much sexier than that."
Klaus and I side eyed each other. "Darling brother, you know I would be happy to fulfill any of your sexual fantasies, no matter how deviant! Well, I do have some limits..."
Vincent groaned and rolled his eyes. "We've discussed this many times, Klaus. No penetration until marriage."
"I'm not talking penetration, baby." I sucked in a breath as Klaus closed the distance between him and his brother, grabbing him by the waist and running his hands up and down his sides. "There are many delightful pleasures in the world. I can do many amazing things to your body that'll let you see stars." He whispered in his ear as he grabbed and squeezed his ass. I heard Vincent let out a whimper as he was pulled closer and Klaus' mouth ran down his neck.
"K-Klaus..." Vincent stuttered. "This isn't really the time or place for this."
"Yes, please get off of him. I didn't travel all this way to witness incestuous PDA."
I met an unfamiliar man with twinkling blue eyes, slightly older with dark hair. "Hi! I assume you're the destined one?" I nodded. "And you?"
"I am their uncle, brother to Tesla." He grinned and held out his hand to shake. "My name is Alaric, but you can call me anytime." He winked.
"Orion. Please don't call me." He let out a roaring laugh and shook my hand wildly. "I've heard much about you from my brother. He told me that you have been nothing but loyal and fierce as a servant here, and I'm glad that you haven't changed. When he wrote me about the soiree I knew that the boys would have a doozy of a time with you." He grinned. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Klaus and Vincent ceasing their make-out session and slowly crept to my sides.
"Oh, uncle Alaric! Why didn't you say anything?" Vincent hugged his uncle.
"I literally told you horny fucks to stop getting it on in the kitchen. There's a time and a place, and it is not a place that food is made. Also, I've been tlaking off your darling's ear in hopes on of you would finally greet me. Glad that you two are still the same. Can't keep your hands off each other." He shook his head and clicked his tongue.
"Alaric, you should have told me you came. I see you met Orion." Tesla smiled and pulled him into a hug. "Yes, and he's perfect for the boys. I couldn't imagine a better lover."
"I could." The nails-on-a-chalkboard voice of Adaline interrupted with an angry sneer.
"What's he doing here?""You invited the bitch?"
Adaline and Alaric exclaimed at the same time.
