~{{so uh- this chapter is gonna be slightly short due to I have two exams coming up- and I felt I should leave a slight cliffhanger >:)) but there isn't anything too intense where it ends. More or less- though I hope you enjoy!}}~

                                 _-Alastor POV-_

I woke up early that morning, not too eager about the day. As I stretched my back and wings, I thought about going out for a flight. It might ease my nerves I suppose. Perhaps I'll even see the white and pink dragon I've seen a few times sipping from the river in the unclaimed lands.

For two moon cycles, every morning when I hit up before sunrise, I'd walk down a path near the border, and see a white male dragon relaxing near the river. Through he seemed startled when he saw me, I was never able to strike a conversation with the fellow. And so sometimes I sat in silence on the other side of the river, trying to determine what type of dragon he was.

His furry body said air dragon, but his hooves and bright colors said otherwise. Normally Air dragons had more solid colors, but this one had vibrant colors. Perhaps an ice dragon? But ice dragons didnt have fur. And a Forest dragon was eventually what I sided on. The hooves and decently sharp claws, lighter colors and beautiful patterns; all had a point in being a forest dragon. Though his horns didn't appear to branch off like one...

I began the walk out of my cave near the top the mountain, just beside the main clan caverns. Even though we had a large territory, free to live where we please, I preferred to stay somewhat close to the main area. Though it was considered odd for me to live high up, I always liked the cold breeze I had. Of course when it got to cold there was another area for my nest.

With one last stretch of my wings, I dove off the cliff area. Waiting till midway to flap my wings. With that I was high up into the air, dodging some of the taller giant oak as I flew by them. After about ten minutes of flying

~{{ if y'all have a better idea for what to call the time, do tell in the comments-}}~

I landed on a pathway near the edge of the territory, begining the familiar walk towards the river. It wasn't too early today, and the sun was already rising when I came into earshot of the river. I heard the bubbling and splashing of it as I neared some large bramble thicket. Pushing my way through the thick wall of brambles and vines I emerged on the other side, the destination; the river. And sure enough the prize was waiting. The Forest dragon was laying on a large rock, sleeping peacefully with his tail curled around him.

The sun shone down on his fur, making his pattern shine in the light. It was majestic in all honesty. There weren't any other words I could think to describe the sight. I quietly too a seat on a somewhat smaller rock, just across from him, before laying my head on my front legs. Taking in the figure in front of me, I noticed a flower crown of sorts hanging his horn .... Horn?

I suppose it was always too dark to see it, but one of his horns was broken. And a few noticeable claw marks were on his back leg, and eye. The one on his eyes seems bad, and it would undoubtedly leave a scar, or leave him blind. The fluffy dragon stirred in his sleep slightly, and another only wound was revealed. His scales seemed to be broken, and growing back from a spot on his lower tail. The indent was the shape of a bite mark, as though someone has grabbed it and shook it violently, making the wound larger.

I suppose all dragons had wounds on them, from battles with wyverns and giant snakes. However something told me that this wasn't either. Sighing I closed my eyes and enjoyed the sunlight and cool breeze, drifting to sleep.

When I awoke the sun was higher in the sky, and the dragon wasn't on his Rock. Though I noticed the flower crown at my feet. I sniffed it, the scent of vanilla and cherry blossoms overwhelmed my senses in a pleasant way. I heard a twig crack beside me, and my eyes widened. There, before me, on my side of the river, stood the dragon whom the flowers belonged to. He was looking at me with both fear and curiosity, clearly hesitant to continue walking toward me.

"Hello." I said as softly as I could, not wanting to startle the creature before me. "My name is Alastor." I continued when I didn't get a response. "Angel...." He said, stepping back to sit down. "Well it's nice to formally meet you, Angel." He seemed less tense than before, as he spoke. "I've seen you a few times. Sorry I didn't get too close, never wanted to cross the border..." He said looking to the side. I laughed slightly. "It's quite alright." I smiled, receiving one back.

Suddenly he stiffened. "What time is it." He asked, seemingly scared again. We both looked at the sky, but when I looked down calmly. I saw Angel with an expression that was anything but. "Oh Imp shit! I gotta go!" He said as he prepared to take off for flight. "What? Why!" I asked standing up and stretching my wings in case there was a threat to my clan that needed addressing. "Because some Ogre brained moron leader, thought she could trust my dad. And if I don't get to that meetin in time, there be no more of her, or her clan." Was all he said as he took off to the East. I launched myself into the air, knowing very well what Leader and meeting he meant.

"Wait father?!" I exclaimed as I flew next to him at an equally fast pace. "Yeah, That jerk is my father, unfortunately for me." He added that last bit quieter but I could still hear. "Hey why are you follow..." He paused in realization. "Oh for the love of Celestial goddess Adalinda, Of course it is!" This fellow certainly has a mouth; I thought recalling how many curse words he has said. "We're almost there. But how do you expect to protect my leader in your state? And your eye..." I trailed off at the last part of my question. "I'll be fine. And I've never been able to feel pain in my Left eye. I'm not completely blind in it.. it's complicated... But right now there are more serious matters. We are almost there. It's best if you hand back in the shadows. I'll distract them, my father will know I'm coming." With that his dove down to the ground once more.

I followed and we parted ways, I could smell my clan mates, and Thier uneasiness. Following the scent I was able to finally hear the conversation, as I sat behind the thickets of a vined weeping willow tree.
