Chapter 5

Mark's POV

"What do you mean he's not your uncle?"I asked running up to her. I opened the door she entered and walked in a few steps but stopped.

 I've been standing in the same spot for 5 minutes staring at her and a woman sleeping on the hospital bed. The only sound that could be heard is the monitor of the woman's heart beat until Seulgi spoke up.

"What are you still doing here?" It was more of a statement than a question. Seulgi sat down on a chair near the bed. She then cleared her throat, snapping me back to reality.

"Um..I...What do you mean he's not your uncle?"I asked again.

"You know you can stop acting nice now ok. I know your plan or revenge, however you want to call it." She told me looking at me. To be completely honest, I want to hug her right now, because she looked so lonely. She didn't look like the girl I imagine her to be or have seen her 2 minutes ago. She looked so, fragile and hurt, her eyes looked so empty. It wants me to hold her in my arm and tell her everything's going to be alright. But instead I apologised quietly, turned my heel around and left.

I walked in the front to find my mum cooking and my dad on his laptop.

"Oh, hey Mark I thought you were already home." My dad called out.

"Went out with a friend." I replied and head upstairs to my room. After showering and putting on my night clothes, I logged on to my laptop and typed in Kim Jihoon.

What am I doing. I could have stayed with her, asked her what happened. I could have told her I didn't want my revenge anymore because I deserved to be punched that day. We could become close and she could have someone to lean on. But no, I just turn around and run away like a coward.

I looked through Dr.Kim's background but found nothing about having a niece called Kang Seulgi. But I did found out that he remarried a woman name Choi Sooyoung. I think I heard that name before. Hmm....Ah! She's the daughter of a famous South Korea car company. That's right, she married a guy from a close family but divorced because they didn't work out or something. Now she's married to Dr.Kim. Hmm...Why did he lied about Seulgi being his niece though? What kind of relationship do they have?

I was so deep in my thought, I didn't hear my mother's calling until she came up to my room and told me dinner was ready.

Oh my god, what do I even care about her. I have even met her properly and now I'm playing a knight in shining armour trying to save her from her secret past I don't even know.
I took a deep breath before doing downstairs to have dinner.

"Hey dad, can I ask you something about Dr.Kim? I mean I'll be with him on Sunday and I want to get to know him earlier."I told my dad during dinner.

"Well, he and I are good close friend."He replied.

"I can see that. But like, do you know anything about his family. I'm just curious because he didn't bring his family to the party yesterday."I said trying not to be suspicious. What am I thinking. This is so unlike me. Of course my parent would find it weird.

My parent glance at each other, then my mum explained, "Well, he remarried a woman name Choi Sooyoung, and had a daughter name Choi Joohyun. She's the same age as you. And for his family, their in Korean. Dr.Kim is on a business trip here."

"Why got you curious all of the sudden, son?"My dad asked.

"I don't know. I guess I'm opening up my mind." I shrugged.

"Oh and Jackson called me before, he said you wern't picking up your phone."My mum told me. "Thanks, I'll call him back later."

After dinner I lay on my bed with millions of thoughts in my head. I don't want to get involve with Miss Tough Bear, but I want to. And who was the woman she visited? Was it her mother? Looks like it, but what is she to Dr.Kim? Is miss tough bear Choi Joohyun? No, that can't be. I feel soo stupid.....and a creep.

I opened my phone and searched up Choi Joohyun. I went to image and it revealed a beautiful girl in her teens about the same age as me. I looked at the time and it's nearly 9, so I tucked myself in bed and fell asleep.
