We sat at the table.

It was awkward. To me anyway. We hardly ever ate at my house, it was strange doing so.

"Was there a reason we're eating here?" I looked up from the table as I watched the parents bring in food and lay it on the table.

Axe's mum shook her head at the two of us, she looked disappointed. We were both sitting across from the table to each other, like usual.

"You left my kitchen a mess today"

I gave a guilty smile and looked back at Axe "He made me leave before I could try clean"

I watched him raise an eyebrow at me but his mum cut him off before he tried to defend himself "Oh, I know. He'll be cleaning as soon as he gets home"

My smile grew and changed from guilty to pleased.

Once it was just the two of us in the room he spoke up about it "You didn't even try to clean"

"I know but you're a gentleman aren't you?" I gave him a smirk like what he'd always give me.

"Well...Of course, I am"

When all the food was on the table we finally got to pick out how much we wanted on our plates.

We handed bowls to each other, filled our plates and debated if we thought we could actually eat all this.

My mum went all out in making the food, she doesn't want to disappoint or make a fool of herself.

My dad looked up from his full plate and looked around at everyone "Well, dig in"

We all picked up our knives and forks and began to cut everything and eat.

Axe was staring at me from across the table as he picked through his food.

I shuffled around and looked around to everyone in the room "I'm going to the bathroom"

I got up from my chair and tucked it back under the table. They all nodded and started their conversation on business.

When I got to the bathroom door upstairs, Axe had followed me.

He probably used the excuse of 'me too' because we had two bathrooms.

"Why did you follow me?" I asked as I stared at him.

The upstairs hallway was empty, it was only us two but the pictures and doors that went along the hall.

"Why didn't you just apologise? You made a mess too you know?"

I shook my head at him "why are you so bothered, she obviously doesn't care that much"

"I don't want to clean it"

"You decided on making biscuits, not me"

I opened the bathroom door but I was stopped.

He yanked the door back and turned me around so I was now against the closed door.

I rolled my eyes and smirked in a teasing way "you just wanted to get some alone time with me, didn't you?"
