The storm had blown itself out by the following morning, though the ceiling in the Great Hall was still gloomy; heavy clouds of pewter gray swirled overhead as Satomi, Sue, and Lisa examined their new course schedules at breakfast. Looking over at the Gryffindor table, Satomi saw her sister, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a few seats along, the Weasley twins and their best friend, Lee Jordan were seated.

"This year's not bad. . . very well balanced," said Satomi, who was looking at her Monday column of his schedule. "Double History of Magic with the Slytherins, damn it... "

"Double Arithmancy this afternoon," Sue groaned, looking down. "At least you aren't taking some useless course like Lisa here?" said Satomi in a tone that she hoped sounded encouraging.

"Oi!" said Lisa indignantly, "Divination is not completely useless if you pay enough attention." taking a sip of coffee.

"What classes do we share with the Gryffindors this year?" asked Satomi, as she reached for a plate of toast just out of her reach.

"We got Charms, Transfiguration, as well as Defense Against the Dark Arts with them," finished Lisa, looking down at her own timetable.

"I do hope that this year does not have anything life-threatening happen," said Sue, who's mouth was stuffed with pancakes.

There was a sudden rustling noise above them, and a hundred owls came soaring through the open windows carrying the morning mail. The owls circled the tables, looking for the people to whom their letters and packages were addressed. A barn owl soared down to Satomi's position, and deposited a letter into her lap, before landing on her left shoulder. "Hello Yuki," said Satomi, running her hand on her owl's beak, the owl in question hooting comfortably. Satomi gave Yuki a little bit of toast, before letting Yuki fly off to the owlery. Noticing that Saori's owl, Hana, had just left the Gryffindor table, Satomi decided to open the letter.

Satomi,

I hope that you are having a good time back at Hogwarts, once again I'm really sorry for being unable to see you and Saori off with your Mother.

I assume by now that you have been informed about the upcoming Tri-Wizard Tournament by Professor Dumbledoor, I trust that you are smart enough to understand the dangers that come with the event and make sure that your younger sister does not try anything silly to join it.

Hoping to hear back soon,

Your Father,

Haruto.

Smiling to herself, Satomi placed the letter into her bag, as the Ravenclaw trio stood up to go to their classes.

Classes were mostly uneventful for the most part, apart from Sue falling asleep during History of Magic, her head landing on her table with a huge "BANG", becoming the brunt of a lot of jokes from both Satomi and Lisa.
