Prologue - Welcome to Villains' World, Chapter 4
"Oh, man... Why did it turn into something like this? Today is not my day.." Ace complained while Deuce dragged him to the Dark Mirror saying this is no time for them to complain and they should head to Dwarf's Mine to get a magic crystal. I'm only getting a headache from these troubles that they had caused.
It's already a headache to catch Ace which we had to drag Deuce into this and I felt bad for bringing him into this, then Grim decided to skip which led to the chandelier being broken. Now going to a mine that has been abandoned and closed due to the exhaustion of crystals and who knows if we can find a magic crystal.
Maybe I shouldn't be so merciful towards Grim and now, I'm probably living on the streets magic-less. Though, the moment we arrived at the place, it screamed that it is abandoned. "So this is Dwarfs' Mine. It used to be prosperous, thanks to the magic crystal mining but..." Deuce trailed off as he looked around the place while Grim is shivering in fear, making comments that something's gonna pop out somewhere.
I'm not sure why but it felt like... the only thing that might pop out would be some white blanket-looking ghosts that everyone in this world seems to be scared of. "Look, there's a house over there. Let's go ask them about the mine." Ace suggested and pointed at some house that looked quite rundown.
"...Are you sure someone is living there?" I asked him, looking at the house in doubt before Ace shrugged, answering with who knows before Deuce decided to approach the house and knocked on the door lightly.
"Good evening... I guess it's abandoned. It's a mess here." He entered the house with the whole place being quite dusty and filled with cobwebs which Grim happened to have one stuck in his face.
Ace pointed out how the tables and chairs are on the small side that seems to be for kids and seven chairs are indicating there used to be seven people that lived in this house. Though, judging from the amount and the size couldn't help reminded me of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. "Judging from this, could it belong to Dwarves? I mean I'm not sure if they existed in this world because in my world they were only fairytales." I stated while inspecting the area if there were any clues.
Wondering if we should head back and accept the expulsion. "Ah... it could be, it must've been a lively home when Dwarfs' Mine was thriving," Deuce stated, going through some of the places before Ace groaned in annoyance.
"Staying here is pointless. The coal mine is probably our best shot at finding a magic crystal. For now, let's go check it out." Ace said as he dragged me and Deuce out of the house to go to the mine while Grim looked at Ace in shock when he noticed Ace was trying to leave him alone in the house.
The mine wasn't that far from the house so it only took a good 20 minutes to walk to the mine... Oh, how I miss just riding my bicycle wherever I go. Never thought I would miss that bicycle though. I'm a bit exhausted from all the walking but Grim was quite occupied with other thoughts. "W-we're gonna go in that pitch-black hole?!" Grim shrieked as I picked up some random stick to use as a torch.
"Grim, put this on fire for me," I ordered him and I'm glad he was too scared to notice that I just ordered him to do so before Ace looked at Grim with his playful grin and provoked him by saying how lame of him to be scared of it. Which made Grim try to lead us in but I'm still holding the torch for self-defense.
As we head into the mine, there were all sorts of different gems were stuck on the wall which made me wonder if these weren't magic crystals or at least valuable that was until Deuce suddenly stopped and pointed out the ghosts as Grim let out a shriek while the ghosts as I gave the ghosts an unimpressed look.
