~Levi's POV~

(Current Week: Sunday)

"Hey Mikasa, what's wrong?" I asked Mikasa. She was sitting at the foot of the stairs.

She just shook her head.

I saw that her eyelids and eyelashes were a bit wet.

"Why are you crying?" I asked as I moved in closer.

"Jean...He doesn't even like me anymore. He used to be hopeless and I used to be desperate but I fell in love with him. Now I realized that...I was just a stepping stone for him." She said, stuttering a bit.

I rubbed the back of her head softly as she started to sob.

"I-I'm just not in love with him." She said. "You...You're the reason that...I-I feel better when I'm around you."

"That's the nicest thing that someone's ever said to me." I replied as she sobbed on my shoulder.

"Levi...Thank you for defending me last week." She said.

"No problem. That brat was all around the fucking place anyway." I said with a smile.

(1 Week Earlier)

I was walking to my class when I heard some whispering in the corner.

I hid behind a wall and tried to hear clearer.

"You fucking horse!" I heard a girl shout. The voice was familiar. Too familiar.

I peeked and saw that Mikasa was talking to a man. I'm guessing that that was Jean. I couldn't really see because he was facing the other way.

"Look...no hard feelings, right?" He said.

"I hate you so much!" I heard Mikasa say.

"You shut your fucking trap!" He screamed as I heard cries of pain.

I decided to step in.

Jean was lifting Mikasa by her collar. Her pants looked filthy and her cheeks were turning purple as blood oozed from it.

Many people saw it as they started to gather around the place.

I ran towards Jean and punched him on the nose as hard as I can.

He fell back.

"Get Mikasa to the infirmary, now!" I said to her group.

They nodded and carried Mikasa out.

"How dare you talk to a fucking woman like that?" I said as I kicked him.

"Mr. Rivaille, what is going on here?" I heard a voice behind me say.

It was the principal.

"Go to the infirmary to find out what this bitch did to Ackerman." I said to her as my eyes were still focused on Jean.

(At The Infirmary)

"Mr. Kirstein, consider yourself...expelled!" The principal said as the medics treated Mikasa.

Hopefully, she would be fine.

"And Mr. Rivaille, take Ms. Ackerman home. You both get a week off from school.

(Current Week: Monday)

She laid down at the bed.

"Tomorrow, we'll be going back to school, right?" She asked she rested her head on my shoulder.

"Yeah, that brat better have learned." I replied as I recalled what happened.

"So, Levi. What happened to Petra? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want." She curiously asked.

I sighed.

"It was Wednesday. I was doing my assignment when I received a text from my friend, Gunther. He said that he needed me to look over Petra while he was gone. I was so stubborn. I instead went to my friend, Farlan. Turns out I wasted my time. He was in the inner city. When I checked on Petra 3 hours later, she..." I said. I started to tear up.

"I'm sorry, Levi. I'm sorry that I hurt you last week." She said.

I calmed down again.

"When I saw her, she looked pale. Her chest was rising and falling slowly. She whispered her last words to me. But she wasn't in the hospital. No. She sneaked out and looked for me. She was in an alley when I saw her. Apparently, some thieves stole her medicine and handbag as well." I said.

"They practically killed her. They shall pay." I added.

"And I was so rude to her." She whispered as she sighed.

"Well, did you know that she looked up to you and always thought you were cool?" I said.

"Yeah, she seemed nice as well." She said.

"Anywho, let's go to sleep. " I said as she put the covers over us.

"Good night." She said calmly.

"Good night." I replied.

(The Next Day)

~Mikasa's POV~

"Well, your son just inflicted physical and mental pain to a student." I heard a voice that resembled the principal's.

"No. I can't believe it. Jean-boy would never do that." I heard a lady say.

I peeked inside then faculty room and saw the principal talking to Jean's mom.

She spotted me.

"He would never do that. Right, Mikasa?" She innocently asked.

I entered the office.

"Good morning, Mikasa." The principal greeted me.

"Good morning Ma'am. Good morning, Mrs. Kirstein." I greeted with a stoic look.

"Ms. Ackerman, can you tell mrs. Kirstein what Jean did to you?" The prinicpal asked with a smirk.

"Wha? No! Jean wouldn't hurt his own girlfriend!" She said as she started to panic.

(1 hour later)

~Levi's POV~

"Where the fuck is that brat?" I thought to myself.

I sighed with relief as she entered the room with that Arlert kid.

"Where have you been?" I asked as I brought out my pen.

"I had to clear some things out for Jean's mom." She replied.

"Tch."

After a while, we were finally dismissed.

I saw Mikasa sitting alone on one of the cafeteria tables. I approached her.

I opened my mouth to say something but she interrupted me.

"No, Levi. Nothing bad's happening." She said as she looked at me and laughed.

"Okaaay. But I wanted to ask, what's our assignment? I was too busy to check." I asked.

"Oh, have a seat, then!" She said.

I sat beside her as we chatted. I like her. Does she like me? Eh, I shouldn't think about it too much.

"Okay. Thanks for the tutoring! Gotta go now!" She said as she stood up.

She waved at me. I waved back as she left.
