                                   ALTHEA

I heard the door of the room open and turned towards that direction.  A woman stepped into the room dressed in formal wear with her blonde hair held into a clean bun.

She smiled when she saw me like she knew me but I could not remember anyone from my past because I had lost my memory.

She walked towards me and sat down before me with a smile on her face. I sat back and watched her with my face devoid of any emotion.

One thing I learned was that I could never trust anyone because I had no idea whom I used to like and whom I hated before that ordeal happened.

"Hi I am Anabelle. Do you remember me?" She asked in a soft voice and I rolled my eyes at her. Why was she speaking to me like I had lost my vocabulary?

"I do not remember anyone except this nurses so I hope you have your answer" I said in a cold tone but she smiled when she heard the tone of voice.

She mumbled that one can lose their memory but the attitude always remains whether it was likeable or not. The guts....

"Okay then. I am Anabelle and I work for your family company as a personal assistant" she said and I stood up from my chair and went over towards my bathroom.

"As you can see I have no memory or recall anything that links to the company nor my family who have not even come to check up on me" I said and was about to step into the bathroom when she yelled,

"Your parents are dead. Your sister hates you because you inherited all the companies your family own and your older brother is married with a new born baby" she said and I turned to her.

Nothing caught my attention than when she mentioned my parents were dead. I could not settle the feeling of never remembering them and not being to even meet them.

"What killed them?" I questioned but she bent her head when she said the incoming words.

"They were shot because they tried to protect you and reason your sister blames you for their death" she said and I felt a slight rush pass through my heart.

Was I really responsible for their death?

If I really was, then my sister should hate me more than anything. I shook my head at her as I stepped into the bathroom.

"Tell me why I would leave this room and step into a world where my own family hates me?" I asked but she walked over towards me as she placed her hands on either side of me.

"Because the company needs a CEO and if you do not ascend the throne then they will sell the company your parents worked hard to raise" she mentioned as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Then have either my brother or my sister to run the company. As you can see, I am not in a fit state to run the company or even recall what I studied in college" I said and turned around but she held my hand.

"Please listen to me. None of them are qualified to run the company and there is a reason why your father chose you, Ms Althea. This is your throne and no one can ascend except you" she said.

I removed my hand from hers and walked into the bathroom to wash my face. I looked myself in the mirror as I pushed the hair out of my face.

How long was I planning to stay here?

But how do I even run a company?

Where will I even start?

I walked back and found her gone. I walked towards the chair she sat on and she had left a picture. I looked down and it was me with some man and woman.

I looked identical to the man as we shared the dark brunette hair and the same blue coloured orbs and even the same colour of skin.

We were both having the pale-warm skin which was the exactly opposite of the woman. She was blonde haired and had hazel coloured eyes along with a very pale skin.

We were all smiling and I stared at man and woman. Were this my parents? Did my dad love me? Why were we so identical? Did they love me?

All this questions filled my head upon seeing the picture and somehow I felt like I was very happy with my family especially my parents.

I stared at the picture when I was suddenly hit by a flash back. My body stopped breathing as I fell into the flashback like it was a vision.

Flashback: A few years back

I sang happily in the house once my parents announced that they would protect me and that I will not be going anywhere. I was so happy.

I came from a school and skipped into the house because I saw that all the cars were in the driveway.

I skipped into the mansion and I was greeted by my dad. He smiled at me and muttered, "Hello princess. How was school?". I replied with a smile on my face because he called me princess.

Mother was in the kitchen and she walked in her with her white formal pantsuit and hugged me. I smiled at both my parents.

"What do you want to eat?" Mother asked.

"Mac and cheese or some pizza. You guys can decide once Sage and Athena return from school" I said and they both nodded.

"Okay then. Since we have a family gathering tomorrow, I am leaving to pick up your clothes from Armani and I will be back" mother said and I turned to dad.

"Are you leaving too?" I questioned.

"Do you think I will let my wife leave alone dressed like this? I want to gouge the eyes out of every man who turns in her direction" he growled protectively.

I smiled and loved how they still loved each other even after years of marriage. I wanted that type of love and they were very perfect examples.

"Protective much? Well see you soon" I said and kissed their cheeks as they went outside and I headed towards the kitchen.

I opened the cupboard for something to eat and found cereal. It was my most favourite and I ate it without even focusing on what time of the day it was.

I took out a bowl and poured the cereal along with the milk as I positioned myself on the counter stool. I was about to eat when I heard gunshots.

I froze for a moment and then recalled that my pa-.....I ran outside with tears on my face and I saw them laying there with bullet holes on the chest and blood sipping out.

"Mom!"  I screamed
