ALTHEA
I stood frozen in my position. Alexander Pierce, the man who dared to threaten my business if I upset his fiancèe, was here, kissing me in my office.
Something made me want to pull away and deliver a slap onto his face because how dare he tried to do that after all he had done but...
I did not. I decided to kiss him back as vengeance towards my evil sister. I wonder how she would react if she knew that her fiancèe was here with me at the moment.
I wanted to prove a point. Perhaps if he fell in love with me, then my sister would learn a lesson to finally respect me. I smirked and leaned into the kiss as I felt his plump lips against mine.
I felt his hands trail down my back, landed on my waist and I could feel the electric touch but I passed it off as static electricity.
We continued with the kiss as our lips moved in sync. I kissed him but the same energy he put out but held back onto the energy that would have me over the desk in a matter of minutes.
I stepped back from him as he pulled away and glanced me in the eye. His eyes held nothing but hate and coldness inside them. I could see the black rings around them.
"Now that I have your attention, we have new problems to deal with" he mentioned and I turned my head to the table before turning back to him with a strict face.
"Just in case you should know, this changes nothing. I still hate you and if ever seek my attention by kissing me again, you will have to line up for fake teeth at the dentist"
I mentioned and smirked and I walked over towards the coffee table with two seats. I sat down and glanced up at Alexander who had his hands into his pants' pockets.
"Can we start already?" I asked and rolled my eyes as he took his time to walk over. I sat and observed his body which was muscular and perfectly sculpted.
The Armani black suit looked to be made for him as it held perfectly tight on the right places and loosened up where needed.
The black shiny Louis Vuitton loafers he had on exposed his ankles beautifully and showed how manly they looked.
Yes I heard a weird attraction to ankles.
His hands were dressed with silvery rings that exposed this dominant side as his veins traveled up from his hands and disappeared into his sleeve.
"My face is up here, Althea" he said and I looked up at him.
"I know, it is just not that interesting to focus on" I said and smirked as he stared me with surprise before it was masked by his usual cold face.
He settled down and we started to work on the forms that needed to be submitted early morning but had been delayed because of the change of ownerships.
Time seemed to move faster than we worked and it reached midnight within a matter of minutes.
I could feel my eyes become heavy with the growing seconds and Alexander seemed to notice this.
"You can take a nap. We'll continue once you wake up" he mentioned without even a look in my direction.
His voice was devoid of it's usual coldness and held consideration in it. I rolled my eyes because I knew neither was it sincere nor did he truly care for me.
Rather he would want me dead.
"I am fine. No need to stress yourself about me. You have your fiancee to stress about" I mentioned and he glanced at me before going back to his work.
I continued and minutes later felt my eyes close. I had hardly slept for over a month and now that I had company, I could feel my insomnia retreat and sleep overwhelm me.
Alexander put his books and laptop on the table and I had actually thought he was done when he walked over towards me. He took the books off me and I turned to glare at him.
"What is-" I paused when he scooped me into his arms and I let out a squeak. He held his head up and walked with me towards the long couch that was on the other side of my office.
He laid me down and I tried to move when he glared at me.
"I am tired of your stubborn ass. You want to be mad, be mad at me but stop doing this to yourself. Get some rest and my word is final"
Alexander scolded and it was first time I had heard him say something more one sentence. He always cut his words short unless he was delivering a threat.
I felt exhausted and decided to rather save my energy by keeping quiet. He sat down on the chair next to the couch and went on about his work.
I studied him as I noticed his face features and how sharp his nose was. The length of his eyelashes and how they were. He would make a cow jealous of his eyelashes.
His golden skin that had no single pimple nor even a single spot. He was clear faced and his stubble was neatly and perfectly trimmed. I should salute his barber.
His hair had some undercuts and a medium fade which made him look more younger yet dominant that he was supposed to look.
Pity his attitude was shit.
"I said sleep, not study me" he mentioned and I scoffed as I slowly closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep with his figure next to me.
I slept and for the first time in many years, I felt like I was safe under his protection. I drifted off with a question in my mind....
Could he be the one I was looking for?
