Maria's POV

As soon as I walk in the door I throw my bag onto the floor and immediately collapse onto the white leather sofa in my living room. It was such a long day at school, especially since I had to stay after to work on a group project with Luke and Ashton. I would still be at school right now if Luke didn't have to meet his dad and brothers for dinner and Ashton had to go do something with Brianna.

But a part of me wishes I was still there because I wasn't looking forward to going over to Michael's and talking.

Eh, I can stall a little bit, right?

I pick up the remote and press the on button and my television came to life. It was one of my favorite shows, but I didn't pay any attention to it. I was biting my nails while my mind was racing with all of these different thoughts.

About Michael.

I let out a heavy sigh and realized that if I wanted to get over all of this bullshit fighting I would have to talk to him.

I get up from my couch and walk over to the door. I grabbed my jean jacket that was hanging from the stair railing and slipped on my boots.

I opened the door, ready to march straight over there and talk even if he didn't want to but I stopped when I saw that blonde and blue haired boy already standing in my doorway.

"Oh, uh" he says, looking shocked. "What, um, what are you doing here?"

I give him a dumbfounded look. "Uh, I live here?" Fucking idiot.

"No, wait, I mean in the doorway." He reaches his hand behind his neck and scratches. "You look like you're heading out. Is this a bad time?"

I stare at him and can't help but smile at how awkward he can be. "Um, I was actually headed over to see you." I explain to him.

"Really?" A small smile forms on his pink lips. Even though Michael and I would fight and go crazy sometimes, we always had little moments like this that made us seem like a normal couple.

"Look-" we both begin to say at the exact same time. We stop and laugh a little because we always do this.

This doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be.

He takes a step closer to me leaving only four inches of space between us. I take a sharp breath in and my eyes immediately go to his.

"Maria." He says my name ever so sweetly and I swear to god my heart literally skipped a beat.

Only Michael Clifford can do this to me...

"I realize I've been acting like a fucking prick the past week," he begins. "And... Damn Maria you know I'm not good at this." He shakes his head and I can see his jaw tense.

I let out a small sigh. "I know. I know. Fuck, Michael this is so stupid. We have been fighting like crazy and I don't even know how it all started."

"It is. It is stupid and I don't want to fight anymore." He ruffles his hair a bit with his fingers before he continues. "Fucking god Maria you know I love you."

I stare at him for what feels like the longest time. It still amazes me to this day that out of all people, Michael Clifford, the big time party-goer, badass guy in a small punk rock band who I would listen to in my best friends garage, would tell me that he loves me.

I direct my eyes toward the ground and bite my lip.

"Fuck, Maria don't do that. You know what that does to me." I hear him groan and I look up at him to find him staring at my lips.
