1993-The break in.

"Hey you're back!"
"Neville? You stayed up?"
"I had to make sure you were safe, I hadn't seen you since tea."
Neville stood in his plaid pyjamas by the fire, his eyes visibly tired.
The radio was on and faintly playing Fade into you by Mazzy.
"Is it okay if I sleep on the sofa? The girls are going to ask loads of questions and I'm not in the mood."
Neville pulls a blanket onto the sofa and softly smiles.
Embers from the fire seem to dance.
I fall asleep on Nevilles shoulder as the music plays peacefully.
Fade into you....
I feel a hand wrap around mine at around 12.

A loud crowd emerged in our tower at around 1am.
I jolted up, as did Neville.
"How on earth did Sirius Black get into the tower!"
McGonagall exclaimes, proceeding to talk to the paintings.
Harry caught my eye from across the room and raised an eyebrow.
Dickhead.
Only then did I realise what Mcgonnogal was saying.
"What person would be foolish enough to write down the passwords."
Neville for fucks sake.
"Is it always going to be you Longbottom?"
I chuckle, then receive a light shove from Neville.
Then reality hit me.
He was here.
He could've easily killed Harry.
Or Dad.
Or me.
