004. electric blue eyes !

WILLA DIDN'T REALLY TRY HER BEST ON THE WORKSHEET. All she did was write random words that sounded smart while Leo was building a helicopter out of pipe cleaners and Jason was just ... staring at her?

She shrugged it off and bit her pencil as she gazed at the worksheet in front of her.

"Check it out." Leo launched the copter. If it was anyone else, Willa would figured that the airplane would have plummeted down, but with Leo being Leo, the pipe-cleaner blades actually spun and the little copter made it halfway across the canyon before it lost momentum and spiraled into the void.

Poor thing.

"How'd you do that?" Jason asked. The boy couldn't have been older than 16, and had tidily cropped blond hair. He had electric blue eyes and a small scar on the corner of his lip. He was attractive, especially his eyes.

Willa had to admit, she's an absolute sucker for people with stormy eyes.

But she was unnerved to say the least, with how the his electric ones seemed to pierce themselves into her soul.

She shivered slightly and wrapped her jacket around herself tightly.

Leo shrugged. "Would've been cooler if I had some rubber bands."

"Seriously," Jason said, "Are we friends?"

"Last I checked."

Willa bit her tongue, restraining herself to yell out, I have no idea who you are, himbo boy! And the vibe that you're giving me is totally off-

"You sure? What was the first day we met? What did we talk about?"

"It was ..." Leo frowned. "I don't recall exactly. I'm ADHD, man. You can't expect me to remember details."

Jason turned to her, repeating the question, "What about you? Do you remember anything?"

Leo turned to her too, curiosity in his gaze. Feeling the both of them looking at her with such pressure made her want to shrink into herself. "No, dude. I have a really bad memory."

Leo bobbled his head in agreement and pointed at her, "She does have a really bad memory."

Jason looked unsatisfied, and gave her a look as to say, We're talking about this later.

"Okay, but I still don't remember either of you at all. I don't remember anyone here. What if—"

"You're right and everyone else is wrong?" Leo asked. "You think you just appeared here this morning, and we've all got fake memories of you?"

A voice in Willa's head said, Most definitely. But by who? And why were her, Piper, and Leo important enough to have this happen to them?

"Take the worksheet." Jason handed Leo the paper. "We'll be right back."

" 'We'll?' " Willa asked, but before she could get an answer, Jason hauled her to her feet. The 15 year old girl let out a yelp as the boy tugged her wrist towards an empty, secluded part of the skywalk.

Only one thought screamed in her mind: Was she about to get murdered in broad daylight by a probable military brat?
