jay was taken aback.

fuck, he thought. he didn't think she would find it out so soon and now he even felt worse.

"yerin, what are you talking about?", he tried to hide his nervousness, but he knew he has been caught.

"don't play dumb. your father told you months ago! and you should have told me too! why were you hiding such a big deal?" yerin couldn't understand the world anymore. well, her world was breaking down at the moment after all.

"yerin.", jay started, even though he didn't know what to say. of course she was right, he should have told her. if he left, when would they see each other again?

"i know you're mad right now. i am truly sorry i kept it away from you, but i told the others too: i wanted to spend the rest of my time in korea with you and no one else. i think i showed you many times how much i love you, right? have you ever doubted any of my actions?"

yerin shook her head.

"see? so i need you to trust me this time as well, love. i can't force you to move away with me, you should live your own life and not be dependent on someone like this jay park here." he chuckled: "you will take over your dad's company soon, i will do the same with my dad. you shouldn't think about this secret as jay is playing with me right now and will leave when i expect it the least. i was just trying to do the best i could so you have the greatest time and remember me once i am gone."

yerin listened to every word he said attentively, even though she had the urge to cry like a baby again. she made sure his point was understandable to her. how could she be mad at him now that he proved he was serious about this relationship all along?

"you're a dummy.", yerin sniffled as she hugged him tightly. he returned the hug and laughed: "you know, i really didn't plan to tell you the news like that. but i am glad that you understand my decisions." he took her hands and smiled:

"do you think we can head home now?"

———

the whole ride home, yerin grasped on jay as if her whole life depended on it. now that she knew he'll leave sooner than she ever expected, she wanted to return all the love he gave her before it was too late.

when they arrived home, the boys haven't arrived yet. jay got rid of his shoes immediately: "seems like they're still having fun at the karaoke bar now." "let them be. they deserve a night out. but why weren't you with them?"

"oh, i was. i just left earlier to pick you up." he hugged her from behind and gave her a peck on the cheek. "my love shouldn't be alone at home at this hour." "you're really protective, did you know?"

"i'm aware.", jay replied.

next thing yerin knew, she was picked up by him and got carried into his room. "you're staying with me tonight. i give you no choice.", he said.

yerin landed on the bed and laughed until she felt like a lung is going to burst. she quickly approached her lover, who stood in front of the closet, and kissed him out of the blue. "what if i say no and just go, huh?"

he suddenly grabbed her by the waist and jumped on the bed, taking her with him.

"then i will hug you as tight as i can until you fall asleep."

———

everybody had an eventful night and the morning after was definitely the worst thing.

the other boys were screaming, yelling and talking downstairs already. seemed like sunghoon and sunoo were responsible for the breakfast this time.

jay slowly opened his eyes and saw a peaceful yerin snoring quietly next to him. he caressed her cheek and grinned.

"told you i'll take care of you.", he whispered and got out of bed to get his clothes.

yerin slowly opened her eyes and saw him in front of the closet again, but this time with boxers on only. she gasped and let out a little scream before she hid herself under the blanket.

jay turned around and raised an eyebrow: "good morning to you too, love."

"could you please wear something after getting out of bed? god, you never learn, do you?", she replied in a panicking tone. "yerin, it's not like you haven't seen my bare body yet. you're simply not used to it, are you?"

"it's simply amazing to see those shoulders every morning.", she joked.

"well, you grasped on them very tightly yesterday night."

"shut up!"

"will not, love.", he grinned. "get yourself ready first, i think the others are waiting already."

———

"you two look like a mess.", jungwon noticed as the couple walked in.

jay had a proud smirk on his face, putting his arm around yerin's shoulder: "don't worry. we are totally fine!"

yerin looked at him with fierce eyes: "my body is sore, jay. i'm absolutely not fine."

"is that a hickey on yerin's neck?", heeseung suddenly pointed out, the boys looked at the exact same direction. "no fucking way!", jake gasped and began to laugh like an idiot.

"it's not what you think!" yerin turned as red as a tomato as she hid her face. jay only shook his head: "it's normal for couples, yerin. they're not innocent either."

"oh my god, can we please have a normal morning in this house?", jungwon whined and placed the vegetables on the table, "i don't want to listen to that story, just let those two be." he pretended to be disgusted and sat down next to riki.

———

yerin was currently on her balcony after doing absolutely nothing during the day. it was chilly, the sun was setting at the moment. she quickly took a picture and continued writing into her diary as she heard someone entering her room.

"yerin?"

"on the balcony!", she replied and put her little book away. jay joined her a few seconds after, smiling brightly as he saw her. "what are you doing?"

"nothing much, just watching the sunset. what brings you here?"

"am i not allowed to visit my own girlfriend?" jay chuckled and sat next to her: "i can't believe i have to leave you here."

"you know we can still try out a long distance relationship, jay."

"don't even think about it. i am sure i will hold you back, do you really want to be dependent on someone who's on the other side of the earth?"

"i promise i'll visit as often as i can. who knows? maybe i need to do lots of business trips to america!"

"yerin.", jay looked at her with a serious face, "just pretend it's a goodbye, not a farewell. pretend i'm only going on vacation and see you again in a few months, maybe weeks even."

"you know this dorm won't last forever either. we all have our plans after graduation and i am sure you'll be in contact with everyone here even months after the ceremony.", he continued.

"but they're not my lovey dovey boyfriend.", yerin laughed her sadness off. "you're right. we always see each other twice in life. and just so you know: i don't know what the future will confront us with, but i am always by your side. you know that, right?"

"of course i do. you say that almost everyday." jay hugged yerin tightly before falling back so that they could lie down.

"when is your flight again?"

"right after the ceremony. my dad will pick me up and then.. i'm off." "that means you're leaving next friday already? ugh, life really isn't on my side, is it?"

"let's just spend the rest of our time together, okay? don't think about it too much."

"i love you a lot."
