CHAPTER TWENTY TWO: SNEAKY SNEAK

THIRD PERSON POV

"Welcome to SAN Lab! The biggest and the most advanced laboratory in South Korea. Welcome dearest visitors to the weekly exhibition featuring SAN'S many accomplished projects. With over 50,000 files restored and presented for all of you to see. Please follow the staff for assistance and guidance," an auto voice started to speak through the speakers of the huge lab. It was an all white interior with large windows to emit sunlight.

"All you have to do is make sure you avoid surveillance for the next 20 minutes. I'm currently working on disabling them but because of the tighter system it's gonna take a while. Fire alarms will be set off and Jimin can create a distraction," Taehyung instructed through the airpods and Jungkook looked around.

"Does Jimin actually know he's gonna be the distraction?" He asked.

"Uhhh... no. Well, I'll tell him later!" V replied while laughing nervously. And Jungkook rolled his eyes.

"Seriously," Jungkook sighs before muting the call, and then getting out of the car with Soujin.

As they approached the security guard, he looked down at the list of guests for the exhibition.

"Ah, Mrs. Bae Soujin and Mr. Bae Jihoon, thank you for coming," he said before letting us in.

"I can't believe they fell for that, and isn't San keeping an eye on you?" He asked and Soujin looked at him before crossing her arms.

"To get legal evidence, you must get your real name to prevent San from feeding off more evidence from us. What's important is that you stay quiet, doesn't matter if I get in danger," she replied.

"Woah an attorney sure is a scary job," he said and Soujin sighed.

"What can I say? It's the life I chose, can't turn back now," she replied before waiting in with the group of other people.

HOSEOK POV

"Oh? What do you mean... by...?" Yeonjun asked and I sighed.

FLASHBACK

"Mr. Jung, get inside the facility for patrol please, over and out," the walkie-talkie said and I sighed as I got out of the car with another officer.

"I go this way, you go that way," I said as I grabbed the keys before going the opposite way, and he nodded.

"Do you think you can run away? You bitch," a voice said and I raised a brow before looking towards the closed door of an abandoned apartment.

I hid to my side as I peeped through a small gap of a window.

"Sung-go, we should go now. The police are starting their patrol," a voice said and I furrowed my brows as I listened in.

I mean, I probably also have a bad reputation considering my place at the most hostile gangs of Seoul, but there's something about doing good or listening in to the fulls story.

"Leave them, what did I tell you? Did you get the call from him?" Another voice butted in and I peeked in.

Isn't that the hottest new idol charting up these days?

"I gave you the money, I hope you didn't disappoint me, take them away," he said and my eyes widened as I looked to the figure in their hands.

Is that a child?

"There are four other healthy orphans like him, they will be sent to the military first thing in the morning," the crook said and this Sung-go guy smirked as he crossed his arms.

"I promise you, I have connections. I have a great share and this deal with him is nothing to just pass by, so do your job and I'll do mine," he said and I clenched my fists as I looked down.

What is this.... military thing? And... what does this guy have to do with those orphans?

I can't just let them go. I may be someone with a bad reputation, but the innocent should never be dragged into the dirt like that!

"Hey!" I yelled, and the group of people looked at me.

"Who're you?!" The crook said and the Sung-go guy eyed me before grinning.

"Hoseok? The Jung Hoseok of Bangtan? I recognize you, what are you doing here?" He asked and I grunted.

"Let the boy go. I still have some unfinished business with you after last time, Zike," I said and Sung-go rolled his eyes.

Yes, I only knew him by Zike. Never really updated myself of his profession and what he does, but we did have some... encounters in the past.

"There you go, butting into business again. If you want money just say it, now I'm taking this little guy away," he said and I furrowed my brows.

"Kid! Run!" I yelled and the boy went back to his senses before biting the crook, and the crook screamed as he got away through the open gate.

"Shit! He got away! After him!" He said and Sung-go sighed.

"This is all your fault Hoseok," he tsked before putting his hands in his pockets.

"No matter how shitty you are, you can't let innocent children into your mess. I won't accept that," I replied and Sung-go tsked.

"What a hypocrite you are Jung, it annoys me how loud you are," he said before pointing at me.

"Shoot at him," he commanded, and from behind Hoseok was a group of men with machine guns surrounding him.

With fast reflexes, Hoseok nudged Sung-go harshly before running past him to the open gate as the open fire started, it was fast and loud as Hoseok barely managed to get out.

"What was that?!" The officer exclaimed.

"Over there! They probably already got away so we must act fast!" I said and the officer nodded as I trudged my way out of the alley leading to the open street.

END OF FLASHBACK

"So this Zike basically tried to kill you?!" Yuuri explained and I nodded as Yeonjun looked at her.

"Yuuri noona, you've worked with Zike right? It was about his last scandal with a female actress," he said and Yuuri nodded.

"That's right. I do admit, he's very famous because of how kind-hearted and respectful he is towards everyone. He even fooled me with his gestures but I wasn't that swayed towards him knowing he probably had another layer beneath all that, but I never expected him to be.... so douchy," Yuuri replied and I sighed.

"That Sunghyo guy, I'm not gonna let him go. He's been going on about that guy who he says he's gonna send those orphans to, I don't know who though," I replied and Yuuri looked at Yeonjun.

"I do have some speculations. But I need evidence that it is. Zike must be working under a certain person in need of orphans. Although, I have a wide range of speculations, it is best we start from tracking his connections and the people he is close with," Yuuri said and I nodded.

"So, you're gonna join forces with me?" I asked, and Yuuri sighed as she put her shades on, turning the engine on.

"You're joining forces with us, this is something more important than my own problems, afterall... children are in danger," she mused and I nodded.

So this is the lady Taehyung was simping on so much....
