I wake up in a cell. I scan my surroundings, it doesn't take long to figure out where I am. I'm in a holding cell. All I can remember is something hitting me in the back. A guard walks up to my cell.
He opens the door to my cell and handcuffs my arm. I don't say anything. It's not in my nature and I know it doesn't help. He leads me to a small office. Behind a desk sits a chief officer and in there are more people seated in chairs.
"Thank you sir,"
The officer says as the guard leaves me into the room. The guard leaves and the officer indicates me to take a seat. I do so.
I look around the room which is deathly silent. I know everyone in the room. The doctor which I had threatened, and the five teenagers from the hospital. The officer begins
"You were caught at the scene of a crime, two times. In this room, are all the people which we know you have been around. We have questioned them individually and we've received conflicting answers."
There's a long pause in the room. The officer continues
"I'm going to give you one chance and once chance only to say the truth. What were you doing at the Jewellery store yesterday night, and the night before that?"
Everyone looks towards me. Now was my time to lie. I was a good liar, I lied to every one. I never said the truth about myself, they didn't need to know it.
"The first night, I was looking for a present for my cousin's birthday, I saw a necklace which I liked however I was apparently shot and woke up in hospital. The next night I went back to the Jewellery store to get the necklace and it was gone ." I say plainly.
The officer nods. "You were shot." He repeats.
I nod. "I know that part is true as we have a record of it, however I find it hard to believe that you were dismissed from the hospitals hours after being shot."
There's a silence as the officer makes eye contact with the Doctor.
"Which is why I questioned the doctor, he said you left on a walk and did not return." The officer looks at me,
"That is true." I falsely confirm.
The five teenagers look confused and terrified. "Why did you leave?" The officer asks.
"I don't like hospitals." I reply.
The officer nods slowly taking it all in.
"Do you know who Dennis and Beatrix are?" He asks.
"No." I reply. "I've heard their names around, but I've never met them."
There is another silence, "You have been seen around them, a few times." He says
"Which is why I am inclined to believe that you are involved in the robbings at the Jewellery store." I stiffen in my chair. I had to pick up my game.
"Okay Brooke" The officer says gently.
"You're 16, there's a small chance you will be put in prison if you were involved however there will be consequences. Tell me the truth, were you involved in the robbing's?"
The blond boy who had asked me if I wanted to come to lunch looks terrified, hesitantly he says
"She can't have been involved." The officer turns to him,
"Why?"
The boy anxiously looks at his band mates for help. The girl looks at him hesitantly and says
"We invited her to our show, she was gonna come."
Why where they doing this? "The officer looks at me. "Is that true?"
"Yes," I reply expressionlessly.
"Then why were you at the jewellery store?" He asks.
"I had some time before the show, I decided to buy the necklace which I had seen the day before, but it wasn't there."
The officer seemed to begin to believe me.
"I'm still unclear, I find it very suspicious that you left the hospital without telling anyone."
"The last time I was in a hospital, I received some bad news about my dad." I say.
"Since then I just can stand hospitals, it's to painful, the doctors were going to make me stay, so I made a run for it."
"Brooke Leah Taylor." The officer says "You are 16, I do not have all day, I'm going to give you a warning, which will be put on your record."
I nod, this doesn't worry me, they don't have my real record. They think I am Brooke Leah Taylor, my name is Brooke Taylor. I don't have a middle name, so the record won't affect me.
The officer uncuffs me and I leave the room, followed by the band and the doctor.
Once we're outside I face the five teenagers.
"Why did you help me?" I ask. "We didn't really, you got a warning" the boy with the long hair replies.
"What do you want?" I ask firmly.
"Nothing," He laughs in response,
"You were innocent, all you wanted was that necklace and Rydel felt bad for buying it so we helped you out, in a friendly way, we don't want anything in return." He continues.
"Thanks." I say.
"No problem," the girl replies. I notice that she's wearing the necklace. I stare at the pendant, I link it to a happy memory, I just can't remember it. I turn around and make my way out of the station, as I walk outside I hear a voice say
"Wait!" I turn around. It's one of the teenagers, the one who asked me to have lunch.
"I know you were involved in the robbing." he says.
"Then why did you help me." I reply.
He thinks for a moment
"Because everyone deserves a second chance. You may have taken a wrong turn in life and made a few mistakes but you can always just start clean."
There's a long silence,
"I want you to come to back to LA with us," he says.

Ross's POV
"I want you to come back to LA with us," I say.
I watch her as she thinks. Her expression doesn't change. I knew I was taking a big risk, if she said yes mum and dad were gonna kill me. The problem was I just wanted to spend time with her and get to know her.
Ever since we first met her in the hospital I've been thinking about her. She's one of those people who gets what she wants, a bit like me.
I work hard to be the best at what I do and when I want some thing I get it. When she wants something she also gets it, the only difference is that she wants different things.
"Why are you asking me to come to LA with you?"
Because I really like you and I want to be that person who's always there for you. Unfortunately I can't say that.
"I'm guessing, your life here isn't great, going to LA, it's the place where your dreams come true, where my dreams became true."
"No," she says and she walks away.
