Stacie giggled. The room around her felt giant, and she knew she was just a tiny baby. She fell down again, and squirmed on the ground, laughing as the ceiling drifted away. She was really tiny, and she didn't need to think about anything because Phil would look after her.
"Are you having fun?" Phil asked. Stacie just laughed; it would take effort to understand his words, but she was happy just knowing that he was talking to her. She wasn't really thinking now, just enjoying her freedom and reaching out whenever she saw movement. The way her hands moved in the air above her was the most entertaining thing in the world, like she never knew what kind of movement she would see when she sent those hands a message.
"She sounds happy," the other grown-up shrugged. Stacie heard his voice, but it didn't give her the same kind of excited bliss that Phil's did. She knew he was the one who mattered most to her, even if she couldn't put those thoughts into words, or even remember his name. It was just a complete feeling of contentment; everything was perfect around her, and there was no need to think at all.
"Do you want to be a good girl for me, Stacie?" Phil asked, and he knew from her smile that she had heard. She was programmed to hear and respond to him; still following her trigger, even if he'd already tried to end it twice. A few seconds later she nodded excitedly. She was going to be a good baby. She remembered how good it felt when he called her good, and she knew that she would do anything to get that feeling again, so there was no chance she would ever say no to him.
"Good girl," he said, and the wave of bliss got her full attention. Her eyes closed and the random waving of her arms paused. When she looked up at Phil again, she knew that she would do anything at all to make him happy, especially if it got her another reward like that. "But I want you to be a bit bigger now. Can you do that for me, like a good girl? You can still have fun, you just need to think a bit more. Can you do that for me?"
Stacie wiggled her hands out at her sides, and managed to put them down on the floor to push herself up to sitting. She didn't quite understand what Phil was asking, but she knew she would do anything to make Phil happy. She looked at him for a couple of seconds and then nodded.
"Good girl," he repeated, and the wave of pleasure told her that she wanted to please him more. She would always be Phil's good baby, even if she was a little bit bigger. "Now, how about we start by getting you to use the potty? I know you enjoy not having control while you're here, but you need to be a big girl sometimes. You can be a baby again when you come back. Can you do that for me, please?"
This time she was less sure. She wanted to please Phil, she knew that. But she was proud of being able to have accidents like a good baby. Using the potty again seemed gross, she'd grown little enough that she didn't need to think about that. But when Phil added "Can you be a good girl for me, and try to learn to go potty?" she knew that she had to try. A little nod, and a half smile.
Phil leaned closer and whispered to her, telling her how she should grow up. Telling her that she was feeling these things as she got bigger, and that she could remember how to use the potty again. She felt sad, because she wanted to be a baby, but she knew she had to do what Phil said. The urge to listen to his words, and to let him change her mind. There were only a few things that she was having too much fun with, and she didn't want to let them happen.
"Are you a big girl now?" he asked. Stacie blushed and nodded, pouting a little.
"I think so," she mumbled. "I gotta grow up but it's hard."
"Have you got your name back yet? What should I call you?"
"Stacie," she pouted. "Call me Stacie. Please?"
"Okay. You're doing good. I didn't want to give you too much at once. I think you're having some issues, and I'm not going to push you. How about we can play for half an hour more, and then we try growing up a little bit more. Can you do that for me?"
Stacie nodded again. She knew he wanted her to be Annastacie again, and she really wanted to please him. But she also knew that when she started feeling like the other name was hers, the instruction to do what she was told kind of went away. When he started using the big girl name, she could choose what she liked more again, and then she always wanted to be a good baby, not a good girl. So she could do what he asked, but only until she had to use the other name, and then she would always be able to take a step back. She didn't really understand any of it, but she knew she could stop somebody changing her mind, and she knew what had been happening even if she didn't understand it.
"Do you think you can try to use the potty like a big girl too?" he asked, and this time Stacie's response was a big frown. But he could still qualify the words. "Can you try to not have an accident for a bit, until you can try to be a big girl for me? Good girl."
"I can try," she whispered, still hoping she could change his mind. But there was something good here as well, and she wanted Phil to know that she was happy. "Trying's fun. I like trying!"
He held her gently, and took her to change her diaper again. This time, he put her in pull-ups. Training pants for a baby who wanted to be a big girl. Stacie thought it would be a long time before she really stopped having accidents, because she was so little, but she knew it would be fun to try. Somewhere in the back of her mind, an instinct that she didn't need to understand told her that Phil had made her want that. He'd put those words in the back of her head, to make her excited about trying to hold it, so she would try extra hard to be a big girl. And she knew that she had to try; it would be fun. Maybe she would even manage to stay dry; only time would tell.
