Kaeya pouted, arms crossed over his chest.

Currently he was seated in the church, being fawned over by the nuns, because he’d been helping Albedo with an experiment in Dragonspine and then the next thing he knew, he was a child.

The Chief Alchemist had prompted him to try one of his many potions, and though hesitant he had, since Albedo would never actually intend to cause him harm. But when he’d suddenly changed, the blond jotted down some notes and just mumbled that he had no current fix for the potion at this moment.

So here he was, waiting for Diluc at the church because Jean deemed he should be looked after once she’d found out about the situation. Albedo hadn’t even bothered to leave his lab in the mountains, waving Kaeya off without so much as a glance.

Scaling Dragonspine in this form was not ideal and he was incredibly displeased by it, so when he’d finally come across a teleport he used it quickly, not wanting to have to deal with any monsters like this.

He’d been as secretive as he could, avoiding other Knights on his way into the headquarters, thankful nobody was standing post at any of the doors at the moment. Once he’d reached Jean’s office she’d screamed.

After a quick explanation the Grand Master had sighed, and sent for Barbara to come retrieve him and bring him to the church for the meantime. She didn’t know if the nuns could do anything about his current state but it was worth a try, and had sent for Diluc.

She also wrote up a note to have sent to the Alchemist about testing his experiments on her knights, especially her Cavalry Captain.

Things had been tense between them after what happened when Diluc was still healing from being roughed up, but after a long talk they’d made up. Kaeya understood Jean was simply jealous that she’d never have Diluc’s affections, and had forgiven her for acting as she had. After all she didn’t mean him any harm despite how deeply it’d hurt him.

Diluc and him had been doing well, they’d been living together at the Winery like they had when they were young, and the maids and cooks were so happy to welcome him home.

Often times Diluc would stop by to wish him a goodnight if he had finished closing the tavern while Kaeya was stuck doing paperwork. As well as Kaeya staying to help Diluc close the tavern when he’d been there at closing.

He smiled fondly thinking about it, happy that things had played out this way after all this time.

“Oh! Master Diluc! Hello, my apologies!” Barbara gasped pulling him out of his thoughts, surprised to see the wine tycoon standing there. She must have been too busy gushing over his form to notice his entrance. Currently he was blocked by the healer, since she’d been standing in front of him, who had turned to face the man upon speaking to him.

“Nonsense Barbara. Hello. Is Kaeya still here? Jean didn’t tell me the specifics, just to come to the church to get him.” Diluc smiled politely.

“Ah yes! Um, would you like me to prepare you before you see him?” Barbara questioned, hands clasping together in front of her.

“Is he hurt?” Diluc’s voice filled with worry and Kaeya blushed. He still hadn’t gotten used to Diluc acting this way, but he found he liked it the more it happened.

“Oh no! No not at all!” The healer panicked, waving her hands frantically. “He was assisting Master Albedo in Dragonspine with one of his many experiments, and he seems to be suffering a side effect of one of them. Don’t worry it’s not harmful!”

“Ah, alright then. Can I see him?” Diluc asked, voice almost shy. Barbara smiled at him tenderly and with a small giggle she stepped away, exposing Kaeya to the redhead before him. With a small nod she made her exit, motioning the others to follow suit and make themselves busy.
