I'm awoken by a very annoying beeping noise that kept me up most of the night.

I yawn slightly, trying not to stretch out my side.

I am currently in the hospital wing with a bandage on my side. That side in excruciating pain.

My eyes shutter open and I hear a grumble coming from beside me.

I turn towards where the sound is coming from and I'm greeted by something very unexpected.

Matteo Huxley sitting on a chair, sleeping.

He didn't stay all night with me? Did he?

I groan silently as the pain from my side instantly kicks in when I wake up.

How long have I been asleep for?

"You're awake," a deep voice spoke from beside me, startling me instantly.

I nod briefly while fixing the sheet of the bed to fit over my chest.

"How's your side, love?" He ask while sitting up and running his hands through his hair.

"It's a little painful," I say while reaching over and grabbing the glass of water off the table next to my bed.

I gulp down the continents quickly and my dry throat is gone.

Matteo stands up and makes his way to the door of the room I'm in.

It seems to be like a hospital room, there's a few machines around the room and 3 beds opposite me.

All 3 are empty and neatly made.

"Matteo, where am I?" I ask while placing the glass back down.

"Hospital wing," he grumbles out and leans himself on the frame of the door.

He waves out of the door quickly and I lady rushes up to him, "Can I get some supper for my wife, please?" He whispered quietly, maybe hoping I could not hear.

She nods aggressively and rushes down the hall way.

Matteo stays in his spot and leans his tall, muscular, hot body against the door frame and I can't help but admire him even though I'm in pain.

Sucks to be you, I guess.

His side profile is insanely attractive and I'm just noticing now, how perfect his nose is and his jawline and his mouth and his—

Everything.

He looks over quickly and we make eye contact.

He steps into the light of the room slowly and leans his hands on the top of the door frame.

His eyes not straying from mine.

He clenches his jaw tightly and skims his tongue in front of his bottom teeth.

"You've been asleep for a full day." He says while keeping the eye contact which seems to be causing a new sensation to take over the pain in my body.

I like it.

Wait? I've been asleep for a full day? I've been missing training for a full day?
