CHAPTER 5: Teaser - TraitorOn the Klingon Vessel:
An unconscious Admiral Janeway was tied to a chair in a dark, quiet room. She'd been beaten up. Constantly thrown around like a rag doll, her mind being probed, whipping. This was like her Cardassian torture all those years ago.
This time, there was no "Prince Charming" to save her.
CHAPTER 5 - Traitor
A few hours later...
Kathryn was beginning to wake up, her eyes fluttering open. The Admiral sat up, still drowsy from her incident, looked at her burns, and winced in pain.
When she was finally able to open her eyes fully, she studied her surroundings. She observed a crude prison cell, made of a metallic alloy with a greenish tint. No, this hue was familiar; the color of a Klingon Bird of Prey.
It all came back to her.
"I demand immediate surrender of your vessel, and Admiral Kathryn Janeway as prisoner."

"Transport me to the Klingon Vessel, Jean-Luc."

"CHAKOTAY!"
A wave of panic suddenly washed over her.
She had been taken prisoner.
Almost instantaneously, an armed Klingon appeared in front of her, and dragged her outside.
She then came face to face with the Commander of this vessel, the ill-willed Captain Kang.
She'd heard of the "glorious" victories that he'd supposedly won.
All of them she believed to be true. The battle scars on his face served as a painful reminder.
"The great Admiral Janeway," he said while smirking.
She needn't reply.
Then a twisted grin formed on his face, and met her blue eyes with his own.
"You know your fate."
He then turned, and angrily shouted at one of his crewmen to throw her back into her cell.
Then she was grabbed by her arm again, and thrown back into her misery.
~FLASHBACK~
"What do you mean a mole?!" she uttered in disbelief.
"It means just that, Katie." said the gray-haired Admiral Paris.
"Someone's been leaking top-secret files and operations to the Klingons and the Romulans, who are allied to a small sector of rebels who refuse to acknowledge Qo'noS as a part of the Federation," said an exasperated Admiral Alynna Nechayev.
"We need you to capture him, Kathryn." she added.
Admiral Janeway paced around the Enterprise's Briefing Room.
Finally, she'd found it in herself to speak.
"Why me? How could you possibly expect me, barely even an Admiral of two years, to catch a full-blown traitor? I may be experienced in terms of political negotiation, making first contact, and battle, but not a spy! I'm not ready! I-I can't."
"Katie, we know you can. You're quick on your feet, and you have a good head on those shoulders. You're the best we've got."
She paced again.
"What about Jean-Luc? He's had more experience dealing with the Klingons, and even the Romulans! Far more than I have! He's been in the Alpha Quadrant for decades! We've barely even come back from our 7-year away mission!"
"I believe you know of Captain Kang," said Admiral Paris.
"Yes, I do. Why?" she replied.
"I'm sorry to say, but this celebrated Captain is our mole."
"What?!" she exclaimed.
"Yes," said Alynna Nechayev. "After all the battles we've helped him win, he still chooses to betray us. He's colluded with an unknown Romulan Commander, and sold the information in exchange for a new ship, among other privileges," she continued.
"We need you to use your upcoming talk to lure him out. He knows that WE know. He'll target any major Starfleet Vessel, with any officers on board who hold significant authority. With you, me, Alynna, and Jean-Luc on board the Enterprise, he's got the holy grail," said Admiral Paris grievously.
"Okay. I'll do it," she finally agreed.
"Thank you, Kathryn." said Admiral Nechayev.
