Chapter 17

Amare's POV

I looked at the field and was not sure what to do. I did not see any blood so they should be ok. At a closer look, I saw a small patch of blood. I felt something nearby. I could not tell what it was but I knew I needed to find them quickly. I followed the feeling that I had and then I saw a bright light shine into the sky. I ran toward it, Lila close behind me.

"Ellie, are you there!" I yelled I was worried about what that light meant. All of a sudden something flew down from the sky. It landed in front of us. I took a closer look at it. The girl in front of me had a silver dress and a pair of white and silver angel wings on her back. After taking a closer look at the girl I noticed her eyes were green and her hair was short and brown.

All of the sudden the girl collapsed in front of us and I knew that I was right. It was Ellie. I picked her up and I saw Lizbeth running down from a cave. She looked terrified and she ran over to us. When she kneeled down beside me I noticed that there was a boy behind her. He stood there looking clearly worried about Ellie. I looked closer and saw that his eyes were an amber color.

"Who is that? And what is going on with her" I looked over at the boy and then down at Ellie again? Did he do something to Ellie and Lizbeth is he the one that had kidnapped them.

"So you are his master" I heard Lila say motioning to the horse while looking at the boy. I looked over at the boy. So it was him he was the one that had taken the girls.

"What did you do to them?" I spat at him. He looked taken aback by what she had said to him. What was this man's game? What did he want?

"He did not do anything. I will tell you all about what happened in the cave. Lucas, can you grab Ellie please" Lizbeth said. He did as asked and then we followed them into the cave. There was a small fire and some blankets had been laid out as a bed.

"What happened to Ellie," Lila asked. I was about to say the same thing that I was about to ask. Lila went over and looked at Ellie.

"She is not injured too badly, she just fainted from exhaustion," Lila said. I sighed in relief looking over at Lucas. He looked like he was nervous about what happened to Ellie. Was this really the boy that Jack and the others had talked about?

He did not seem as mean and evil as they had made him out to be. Were they not telling us something I started to think about everything that they had said.

"Ellie has wind powers. Jack and the others have been lying about a lot to us. I am now aware of what Ellie and my powers are. As you can probably guess she is Wind I, on the other hand, am water which leaves you with fire Amare" Lizbeth said looking at me.

"There is something that I need to tell you all," Lucas said, looking at all of us. I looked at him confused about what could be so important that he needed to look so serious.

"What is it that makes you look so serious?" Lizbeth asked, looking at him with that curious look to her.

"It is about Ellie. She is my little sister and the heir to the throne of the wolf kingdom." As the words came out of his mouth I felt myself thinking about how stupid could he be of course she was not his sister. Starting to think back, my head started to hurt and I thought about what he said.

I thought back to when Ellie I started to think about it and I did not have any memories of Ellie before she was four. Was she really his sister? If he was telling the truth then how did she end up with us?

"But then why did she live with us?" I asked, wondering about it. It does not make sense that a child from a different kingdom ends up growing up with us.

"It is a long complicated story. Are you sure that you are ready for the truth about it all?" He asked, looking at us. We all nodded and he took a deep breath.
