Daisy walked beside Jared as they reached her apartment. The two were quiet, not really knowing what to do.
Jared didn't want to pry, despite being able to hear everything he didn't want to upset her more.
She had finally stopped crying and he didn't want her to cry again. Daisy didn't deserve this. He saw how much she cared for her friends. And that included George.
Despite the knowledge that the two were no where near close to being good but that didn't stop her from caring.
Jared catches her constantly just absentmindedly talking about George and when she realizes that she was, she was gonna stop.
Jared was not blind, he saw the truth and as much as he wanted to show Daisy how she was worth so much more and he just wanted her to realize that.
But she didn't. So as they stopped in front of her door, Jared grabbed her hand and sighed. Daisy looked at him, "Jared?" she asked.
He gulped and smiled to himself, "Do you know how much you're worth Daisy?" he asked looking up at him.
Daisy didn't know what to say but Jared did. "You deserve so much more than unrequited love, because you deserve the world. I hope you know that." He said.
The girl was confused, she didn't know where the conversation was going. She furrowed her eyebrows but Jared shook his head, "I can see it Daisy. Everybody does." He calmly said.
"Jared I don't-" "You love him Daisy. You always have." He cut her off.
Daisy's face fell and she shook her head, "I don't." she whispered. But Jared smiled, "You don't have to admit it now but I see it. I think everyone saw, just not you and George." He said with a sigh.
"And despite how I wish at night that you will finally feel the same way that I do, you can't. Because I know for a fact that despite how many you two meet, it will always fall back to each other." He said.
Daisy felt tears flowing down her cheeks. "Jared... I- I'm sorry." She finally said it.
But Jared just smiled and nodded, "I understand. Going into it my mother told me when you met that you reminded her of her and dad." He said as he walked closer to her and wiped her cheeks to catch the tears.
"Jared- you don't deserve this-" "You made me happy. And despite how much you make me happy I can't make you happy like George can." He said with a smile.
"I'm so sorry." "Just promise me one thing."
She nodded and he breathed in before pulling away and smiling, "You won't let him go this time."
