What’s the difference between Piltover and the Undercity? Other than geography, nothing. The people all cheat, lie, and steal. They manipulate you, let you believe their “love” is real, but they couldn’t give two shits about you. They do what it takes to get what they want. Who they hurt doesn’t matter.
News flash, you don’t tell the girl with a knife to your throat that she doesn’t matter.
My vision blurred red. My body moved on its own, taking control of the blade in my right hand.
“You can’t blame me for this.” I whisper as a tear drops down my cheek. The knife makes an impact, the waterfall of red flowing into my hands. Screaming and then silence. But the screams weren’t hers, they were mine. I fell to my knees as the girl I loved lay motionless in front of me.“I’m sorry.” I wailed, my head finally clearing. I can’t recall how long I sat there screaming, balling, regretting. My throat was dry and rasped. My screaming led to coughing. When the pain in my heart subsided the pain in my lungs showed through. I withdrew my hand from my lips and found blood pooled in my palm. As realisation hit I found myself smiling down at the lifeless girl I clung to.
“At least we’ll be together at the end, right?” I then took a deep breath and let the darkness overwhelm me.
~~~
“Wake up, Sunny!” I jolted from my bed as I was being shaken from unconsciousness.
“W-what?” I asked as my eyes opened completely. I surveyed my surroundings, looking from my small bed laying in a broken wooden frame to the girl at my left, arms firmly placed on my shoulders, concern evident in her eyes. Her beautiful blue eyes. Well, eye, her pink hair covered one of her eyes as she stared at me through the strands. I finally focused on me, my breathing was sporadic, my mouth dry and rasped. Just like my dream. I thought to myself. Sweat dripped down my face and body. I must’ve been screaming in my sleep and alarmed her.
“Are you okay?” She looked at me. Stop it. I sat up and pushed my hair from my face to show that I was fine, but she didn’t move, hands still placed on my shoulders. I’ve always hated it when people worry, she knows that.
“I’m fine.” I spoke barely over a whisper.
“You had another nightmare.” Her voice mixed between questioning and a stern telling.
“I’m fine.” I said, this time through gritted teeth. You’re one toe past a line right now, don’t cross it.
“You were hyperventilating when I came in!” She raised her voice. I turned to look her in the eyes, anger overflowing my facial expression.
“I said I’m fine, now leave it alone.” I didn’t have to yell, my voice showed the danger all on its own. But the girl in front of me is stupid and never knows when to back down from a fight. Her grip tightened and she pulled me closer.
“You’re not allowed to hurt alone while I’m here, got it?” Her eyes were fierce. Ugh, that look. I love that look.
“I’m…sorry.” I trailed my eyes downward, unable to look at her. It got the best of me again goddammit. I felt her gaze soften, so I looked back up. It wasn’t until now I realised how close we were. Our noses touched, her hands still on my shoulders, her body sitting on my legs. When did that happen? My face flushed but she didn’t budge. Her eyes trailed over my features landing lustfully on my lips. Not right now. She closed her eyes and started to get closer. Uhm, Ma’am, you were too close already!!! My closeted ass can’t handle this. My body, ignoring my brain's pleas, reached for her hips with my hands as my eyes drifted closed as well.
