"Mirabel?"
She was standing in front of the hourglass-shaped wall. She snapped her hand away from the falling sand and looked at me. Her body froze before she realized it was someone who understood. At least, she was relieved it wasn't Senora Madrigal.
"Tia," Mirabel sighed in relief.
"Come on." I knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to find out about her uncle. "I'll show you around."
She and I fell through the sand. I stood up with ease and helped Mirabel up.
"Bruno was most like the black sheep of the family before you were born," I started, looking at the hand. "That's why there's so many stairs. To keep familia out and himself in."
I was barely out of breath when we made it up the stairs. I was used to it. Mirabel was out of breath and fell to the ground. It made me sad, looking at the cave. The shell that Bruno hid in while his family was laughing and dancing days away.
"I see what you mean," Mirabel groaned.
I tossed a rope over and swung. Mirabel went after me, breaking off a piece of the cliff with me. She held onto my waist as she listened to the cliff fall. What would have happened if we fell too?
Mirabel was the first one to walk down the hallway. I picked up a couple of things as I went along. I smiled at the carving of me on the wall. But I frowned at the way he depicted himself on the rest of them. He looked like a... monster.
I opened the glowing green door. Mirabel looked around, amazed. I was in shock.
"He really loved you, Tia," Mirabel said.
"And I loved him," I admitted. I looked down, noticing my foot was about to touch something green. "Why is this one shattered?"
Mirabel and I picked up the pieces. Mirabel crouched and picked up three pieces. The house rumbled, making me worried. The rumbling got increasingly louder, and we were frantically trying to get the pieces to fit together.
"Me," Mirabel breathed, looking up at me with teary eyes.
"Get the pieces. We need to get out. Now," I said as the roof cracked.
We got out of there as fast as we could. The vision room collapsed, making me want to cry. So many memories and visions filled that room. I only got to see one before it collapsed entirely: Bruno and I reuniting.
"My gift! I'm losing my gift!" Luisa shouted as I wanted to rush back to my room.
"Luisa?" I ran over to her. She hugged me tightly. "Hey. It's okay."
"Mirabel and I were having this talk about me carrying too much, so I tried not to carry so much. But I realized it was putting me behind, and I knew I was going to let everyone down. And I felt terrible. So I was grabbing all the donkeys. But when I went to throw the donkeys in the barn, they were... heavy."
As Senora Madrigal stayed with Mirabel, I led her back to her room. I soothed Luisa into her room, knowing the pressure she felt from her gift. I left a little while after, escaping to my room.
"The destined will find. The blessed will fall. And the missing will be found," I said, my eyes glowing purple with stars in them. I snapped out of it. "What the?" I saw images flash by my eyes as I fell to the ground. "No. No!"
"Time to eat!"
