― 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞

Y/N L/N, she was incredible.

Powerful like the sun, beautiful like the moon. She was passionate and bold, determined and intuitive. Y/N L/N was built for this hero-driven world.

She knew she was meant for greatness. Everyone around her knew that too, she had talent and drive that couldn't be replicated. With bruised knuckles and blistered feet, she'd continue to push forward like a tsunami approaching the shore. Y/N L/N knew her future, she knew where she'd be in 10 years. Her name gracing the news, her face on children's merchandise. She'd be a top-earning hero, praised by fans and condemned by critics. That was all she desired. Nothing less would do.

Y/N, although she was confident in her future, was never one to believe in destiny. She believed you couldn't get anywhere without grit and sacrifice, fate would not simply give you what you craved and longed for. Y/N L/N hated the concept of destiny, because it certainly did not favour her, according to the top-heroes.  Endeavor, born into a wealthy and respected family. Best Jeanist, son of the pro-hero Denim. Ryukyu, who attended Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. They were much different to her.

Y/N L/N didn't have those resources, growing up with an absent mother and terminally ill father. Mika, Y/N's older sister was the only proper income for the household, having to pay for her father's surgeries and medication, along with bills and food. Y/N could only help so much with her own job, with her funds going towards her and Mika's personal necessities. Her home was located in one of Japan's most dangerous neighbourhoods, yet heroes steered clear. They weren't worth protecting. Maybe that's why she looked at heroes with such disdain. They truly were selfish, abandoning the people who needed them most. The hero system was flawed at its best, and corrupt at its most realistic. It was all for money, prestige, fame, and not for protecting the people they swore to serve.

Fuck them.

Y/N L/N would be different.

Or at least, that's what she thought.

Y/N L/N was complex. She wasn't afraid to step on others to get ahead, she knew kindness wouldn't get her into a top hero school. It wouldn't help her rise the ranks and dominate the industry she grew up observing. Heroes were selfish themselves, using every opportunity and tragedy to advance their careers. People were blind to believe heroes actually cared for the wellbeing of the citizens they swore to protect. They simply wanted the fame and fortune that came with the title. Y/N L/N was not much different. Yet she knew the fundamental purposes of heroes were to serve their community. She understood hardship, and she worked to improve the lives of others around her. She wanted to be who she never had, a hero. She wanted to be a hero for the ignored. For family. For herself.

Her brash, unfiltered personality, and questionable ethics may limit her, but she'd go beyond, plus ultra.

A/N - Y/N is a complicated character, you won't be immediately perfect or friendly, but you're also not a total bitch. My aim for your character is to grow throughout the story, so to start off with, you won't be the most likeable person. If you have any questions about why Y/N does what she does, don't hesitate to comment! It helps me understand how my writing is being received by you lovely readers <3
