Rue's Narration:
The thing about kindness is that it opens you up to betrayal on all fronts. Sometimes you think you are bringing in a stray cat but in reality, they are the rat.

Fezco's larger hand on her thigh brought her comfort as the silence wrapped around them without it being too awkward. The food in front of them held their attention as Ash tapped away at his phone. It brought a smile to Victoria's face as she leaned back; gracefully eating and sipping at the water. "Are you staying over tonight?" Fez was the one to break the silence as his hand gently stroked her and watched Victoria turn to him with those big brown eyes. "Of course, if you'll have me." She teasingly replied.
Fez only smirked; the answer already known to the pair who were comfortable in their relationship. His fingers moved to play with a lock of her hair as Victoria reached for her phone and typed a message for her mother. It would be ignored but at least her back was covered. She sent another to Lexi so her twin knew she was safe.

Fez's arm rested behind her; his fingers finding her neck to softly trace abstract patterns whilst Victoria tried to concentrate on the food in front of her. "Do you think Cal will come back?" She asked the question she had been dreading. Victoria nibbled on her bottom lip nervously as she looked up. Ash's eyes away from his voice and moved to Fez. "I don't know. But we'll be prepared." The brothers shared a subtle nod. It only half gave Victoria comfort as she knew violence came easily to the pair. "I hope so." Victoria mostly muttered to herself as she finished off her meal.

She tried to focus on what was happening now even if her mind was racing loudly with concerns. As ever, Fez seemed to be in-tune with her like nobody else and captured her hand before playing with her fingers under the table. The silence returned as Victoria leaned into Fez's shoulder and took comfort in him. The buzz of her phone caught her attention as she reached to unlock it.

A message from Lexi greeted her. "It seems Nate is awake." She relayed the information to Fez who's hold tightened on the beer he was sipping. "Loosing your touch bro." Ash teased from across the table. "Nah, I didn't want him dead." Victoria typed back to her twin; hardly hearing the brother's exchange as she settled back into her chair. "Not yet." Fezco carried on as Victoria turned to him; only catching the end of the conversation. "Cassie seems a little too bothered by it all." Victoria was mostly speaking out loud to herself as she chewed on her bottom lip.

Fez's bright blues followed her movement with his eyes darkening in desire. "Hmm, I thought Maddy would be." Fez added to the conversation whilst reaching to press a soft kiss to her temple. "Me too." Victoria agreed before placing her phone down and resting her head back on his shoulder.
Victoria watched as Faye seemed to enjoy her meal and began a conversation with the girl. "What happened for you to stay here?" She asked gently. "She pushed someone of a roof." Ash answered for her with a scowl.

"Oh, okay." Victoria hardly knew what to say as Fez's hand moved to rest back on her thigh. "He was being mean." Faye defended herself. "Oh, I guess that's okay then.." Victoria tried to be nice and it seemed to work as Faye nodded in agreement. She looked over at Fezco who just shook his head; a conversation for another time. His fingers continued their stroking of her thigh as she finished off the water in front of her.

Ash only rolled his eyes at the whole situation before turning to his phone; pushing his now empty plate away from himself. "Are you tired?" Fez asked gently; his fingers stroking a lock of her hair from her face before capturing her hand in his. "A little." Victoria hummed and turned to fully look at him.
"I'll wash up." Ash offered; placing his phone in his back pocket before collecting the dishes. "Don't break any like last time." Victoria giggled as she watched him go. She got no response but a roll of his eyes.

"Where are you sleeping?" Victoria gently asked Faye who was already beginning to space out. It took the girl a few moments to reply, "On the couch." She blinked innocently up at Victoria. "I'll get some blankets." Fez watched the interaction and watched her like a puppy as he kept a hold of her hand before Victoria moved out of the kitchen.

"Don't tell her anything more." Fezco's voice changed from when he was talking to Victoria; more sterner, less of a drawl as his bright eyes burrowed into Faye's. "Got it?" He tried to get through her high mind and seemed to do so as Faye nodded without another word. She had been treated worse than this; she owed them this.

Victoria missed the tension that had filtered into the room for only a moment as she placed the blankets on the sofa. "I'm just going to grab a shower." She announced before pressing a soft kiss to his scar. Her hand reached to collect her phone before disappearing once more.
