The sick, beautiful biography of Hazel

Prologue

My name is Hazel Grace Lancaster. Now I am sixteen year old and I do have couple of illnesses. At once I used to have a normal life but now I am not normal anymore. 

Technically I still am cheerleader but I just am not able to attend the basketball games of high school because the coach does say that I am too ill now. I used to have many friends but they left me when I did get the diagnose. To be honest that did hurt so badly. They had promised that what ever comes they will stay by my side. But when they got the know they just laughed and said that my crappy lungs does not last long time. Now those back stabbers are praying the forgiveness from me. They do say that they were just in shock and did not realize those things they said. But I don't believe them. 

Two of my old friends Kaitlyn and Caroline are still speaking with me but I know that behind of my back the are saying those bad things. I used to have a brilliant lovely boyfriend, but now he is cheating me with another cheerleaders. Actually I do understand why? These illnesses are ruining my whole life. Because of multiple medications I have gained much weight and that is not good for the cheerleader captain. I used to be very athletic when I was young, that is why I wanted to be cheerleader at the beginning. My mother did wish that I could have started a ballet career. But ballet really was not my thing. 

At classroom I used to be that confident student that fearlessly answered for those questions from teachers, but now I am just sitting quietly and listening the depressive music. Kaitlyn and Caroline are trying to cheer me up when I do have those bad days, but not even them are able to get me to better mood. The boy that once was my everything is now just ignoring me for the whole time. I know that he has been dating with Caroline for a while now. But the problem is that we have not ended our relationship yet. And I you are wondering who is my 'boyfriend', of course he is Augustus Waters, the star player at the basketball team of our school. Of course we were the perfect couple, and once every girl at this high school was so jealous for me. And now they are jealous for the Caroline Mathers! Well at least now not every girl is trying to 'murder' me.
