╭─▸｡Aurea's point of view

"Ahhh, Aurea. Good to see you again" Fowler stood up from his work chair just to kneel a little to hug me tightly. Not gonna lie, I was a little surprised by his action. He's not usually this happy, but I saw him last time about three years ago, so I guess anything could happen during that period.

"Good to see you too, Captain" I said when we finally pulled away from the hug "How are things?" He sat back onto his chair moving a big pile of documents to the left side of his desk.

"You know me, Aurea. Always working" He sent me a barely visible smile. As far as I remember, he always was a workaholic, which was quite funny, because not many people saw him outside his office. It seemed like the only thing he did was paperwork, I couldn't imagine it. I'm sure being a captain is cool, but you're mostly giving orders to keep everything and everyone in place. Some of us were always in the field, so it was hard to see our captain in a different place than his office. Well, maybe besides his post, he also visited the bathroom and cafeteria, but yet, he spend more time here than at his house.

"Why doesn't it surprise me?" I chuckled. "What about you, Aurea? How are you been really?" His question surprised me, even more than him hugging me.

"I'm doing well Captain. In my opinion, better than everyone would think" I'm not sure if he believed me.

"If you say so, Aurea. Yet remember, you can always talk to me or anyone at the station. We got a few psychologists since you've last been here, so anyone who'd like can talk to them, not just for a case. This also applies to you" Captain explained looking me in the eyes. 

I nodded to let him know I understand.

"Captain, I think you should finally explain, why did you invite me to the station?" My face takes on a serious expression.

"Of course. I wouldn't bother you, if it wasn't a big of a deal" He grunted reaching to grab documents from his tall tower made out of file cases, to hand over to other detectives or to write a report and check everything about a specific case "There you go" Fowler handed me very thin case file. I immediately opened it, just to a couple of pictures from the crime scene and NO witnesses.

"Really?" I asked more worried than disappointed. "Well, I don't have anyone else to take the case. I figured, if you'd only agreed, it's completely yours. It would be a great start, before going back to bigger cases" My superior looked at me with hope in his eyes. 

"Is that the only reason you brought me here?" I asked.

"Everyone is pretty occupied with work. We have many... TOO many cases involving deviants and I'm afraid we need every pair of hands" Captain explained.

"Do you think I'm ready?" I asked. I felt good about being back here. The station was like a second home for me, but was I ready to be back at work?

"You're the only one to know. I won't pressure you, but just understand, we need you more than ever" He stated.

I thought about it before. Right after the accident. Month later. A year later, and so on. But I didn't have the guts to break and show up here. I felt like they would know. Besides, some new workers probably don't know I exist. At the same time, it's good, but also it might be hard to keep up those last three years.
