The Elemental world was originally a completely different book. It was about mermaids and the main character had a different name, and a sister.
Though it didn't start from there, it started with a game, yes a game. When my friends and I were little, we loved to pretend to be mermaids. We were obsessed, I even thought I convinced them that we were mermaids. Later found out I was only fooling myself.
The game was simple, keep the six rings of power away from the villain, my friends brother, and try not to let our love for humans get in the way.
We even went as far as using rock bags to be our boyfriends for this game, we never did it again after the bag broke and scattered the rocks all along the pool.
This was our favorite game, we even had fake names which I later used for what I thought was going to be the best book ever, turns out the book was horrible, and not well planned out.
I won't say too much incase I adapt the book into a series for you all, wouldn't want spoilers.
And even then that wasn't my first draft, I had made another book that was horrible in my notes. If you want I'll post it in the next chapter. Completely unplanned.
So thinking of all these failed books I'm kind of worried for this one, but since I actually planned this one out I'm hoping it will be good.
It so planed out that I already have the next three book ideas in the series.
Typically I don't remember exactly how all this merged into an elemental book besides the mermaids having similar powers. I just remember one day I wanted to write it.
The whole spy part is another game my friends and I used to play. Like I assume all kids, we wanted to be a spy, and who better to spy on then our moms, right? Apparently not, they had no good Intel, it was all girl talk.
Our games were crazy, so crazy in fact I would shave the pencil paint off of the pencil just so I could write my spy code number.

There was many more for my other spy group friends. We don't do it now, but I believe all my little kid dreams were inspiration for my book(s).
