September 2nd, 1991, A random corridor

It wasn't long before the group of 5 got lost, they had refused help from Adrian and Gemma when they offered to walk them to History of Magic, now they very much regretted it.

"How about we just ask a portrait? or a ghost?" Asked Theodore, he was mainly quiet during this trip although that might be because he was planning their deaths in his head. Looking at him they all voiced their agreement and walked towards the closest portrait.

It was of a man around fifty in age with an eyepatch.

"Excuse us, sir?" Viola asked, standing the closest to the portrait, "we were won-"

"-what are you five doing here? class started ten minutes ago" from around the corner came Professor McGonagall, Caroline guessed she didn't have class until them, in third and fourth period, around eleven o'clock.

"Well professor, you see we got lost... could you help us?" Caroline had heard about McGonagall from the elves that took care of her father back in the day, she was a stern teacher but wouldn't refuse a student with manners and good intentions.

"Got lost? well i suppose that's acceptable, Slytherins, right History of Magic. Binns classroom is this way, follow along" And so with bewildered looks from Viola and Blaise, the five made their way after McGonagall.

"Thank you, Ma'am," They chorused.

History of Magic could have gone better, Caroline supposed, the entire class learned in the first fifteen minutes that all Binns would talk about for probably the next seven years was the goblin wars. And, whilst she herself found this to be interesting, it quickly bored the rest of the class, which was both Slytherins and Hufflepuffs. So, she supposed it was self-study for the class, or a specified nap time for everyone, Viola was fast asleep at least.

However, after that utterly boring class, they had Transfigurations with Professor McGonagall. She would admit she was looking forward to this class, they were once again with the Hufflepuffs, so it was all fair game in this class.

Walking in, it was quiet, both Hufflepuffs and Slytherins came together, and they sat randomly around the room. Caroline sat next to Viola this class, with Blaise next to Theo behind them. They all sat facing the front, where a cat sat on the desk, a tabby cat.

A gasp came from in front of her, a Hufflepuff and Caroline turned her head towards the cat once more, it had jumped from its spot and slowly transformed into McGonagall, her glasses on her face and hat upon her head. She soon began talking, calling the attention of the few people who had not witnessed her spectacle.

"Transfigurations is one of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts" She began, "anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned" Them left in surprise of the ending of her speech, she turned her desk into a pig and back again. They were all very impressed and couldn't wait to get started. "does anyone have any questions before we begin this lesson?"

A young girl of to Caroline's right lifted her hand, "Will we be turning furniture into animals any time soon? My brother likes to show off at home and never answers my questions"

Unfortunately, the answer to that question was a no, they would start with a match, and turn it into a needle. They had a few lessons apparently to get this done, it was to train their magic to learn the basics of transfigurations.

By the end of the lesson a few people's matches were the same, a few turned silver but both Theo and Caroline had turned both of their matches into needles and had the rest of the class to read some theory about it and help whoever needed it.

All in all, Caroline quite liked that class, and had gotten a smile and ten house points from McGonagall.

It was lunch now, and Caroline was relieved, she had managed the first half of the day through what she had learned from home, but soon she was going into uncharted waters, Defence Against the Dark Arts had a new teacher every year, so she didn't know what to expect, and Potions had Draco's godfather and her father's victim as the teacher.

"I quite like Transfigurations, the art of changing things that were made for a specific purpose and going against that completely is quite enjoyable" Viola called out after a few biscuits, earning a stare from the four.

"Are you alright Viola?" Blaise asked, concern leaking from his voice as he placed his goblet down. Eyes searching over the girl.

"Hm? Oh yeah, did you know that the elves actually go to our homes and ask our own elves what we like so we eat their food?"

"That... that actually makes sense" Theo said, his hands ruffling the newspaper that was delivered earlier that morning. "Oh look here Caroline, the press are talking about the Slytherin Potter and the history of the potter house, what's to be expected from the unknown girl" He passed over the paper.

'The Slytherin Potter, what's to come at Hogwarts'

That's right readers, last night during the famous Hogwarts sorting, one Caroline Dorea Potter was sorted into Slytherin, whilst the boy-who-lived, her own brother was sorted into Gryffindor. What can we expect from the 'unknown' Potter and what's the reason for her being sorted into the house known for their ambition, resourcefulness, determination, and cleverness?

There have ever only been two other Slytherin Potters, one Dorea Potter nee Black, our own Caroline's great aunt, and Lloyd Potter her great-great-great disowned Grand-uncle, can we expect her to be disowned much like the past blood relative or thrive like her female ancestor who mind you was known as a genius back in the 1940's.

There's much riding on the Potter family's choice, what will James Potter, Lord of the house do to his own daughter, Heiress by blood and magic, first in line of the fortune do now that she is not in the families house, the house of Gryffindor?

Stay tuned readers,

Looking up at the boy, she returned the paper.

"So, what's your opinion heiress of the house of Potter?" Blaise asked, having read the paper over her shoulder, a snicker in his voice.

"I feel its best if I don't do anything, I will either be disowned, and go live somewhere else, or I will start being raised as the heiress now that everyone knows it's not my brother." Caroline began "although there is the chance that my father could find a way to hang the heirship over to Harry, which is possible since I have not yet been handed my heir ring"

With an affirmative hum, Blaise stood from his seat,

"Come along now, we have potions next, Draco's already gone ahead"
