De'arra's Pov

"Ok. I love you."

"I love you too."
I've been on the phone with my mom for that past half hour talking about all kinds of stuff. She told me that she, along with everyone else missed me and asked when I'm bringing DeMar to meet them. I told her I will soon when he's not busy. I let her know that when I do come I won't be staying long. I don't want to run into my ex. That's if he still lives in Houston. She also mentioned that he came by her house to apologise like 9 months after I left but she wasn't buying it. The whole family hated him after what happened.

I left my phone on the counter and opened the refrigerator to see what I should make. After thinking about it, I decided to make a chocolate smoothie. I put the ingredients out and got to work. I hope it tastes good, DeMar always makes me smoothies that tastes delicious. Too bad he's not here. He's got away games the past week and isn't back till Tuesday so for the mean while, I try not to miss him too much. Speaking of DeMar, I wonder how he hasn't called yet.

I shook the thought and blended everything up for a good 3 minutes and poured the finished product into a glass and tasted it.

"It's good." I admitted before taking a next sip. My phone began to ring. It was DeMar. I quickly propped up the phone against the fruit basket and answered.

"Hi." I said innocently.

"What's going on?" He said as he pulled the covers off of his face for me to see him properly.

"Nothing, just made a smoothie."

"Let me guess, not as good as mine?"

"Nah, but it's good."
He just nodded his head with no expression on his face. Somethings bothering him.

"You ok babe?"

"Didn't you watch the game earlier? We lost." He let out a deep sigh as he rubbed his face.

"I'm sorry, I forgot. I thought you were playing tomorrow?"

"I'm glad you didn't see it. I played terrible. I'm so disappointed in myself." He pouted. I felt sad seeing him upset. I knew he was hurting.

"Babe don't beat yourself up about it, you had a bad game, it happens." I tried to reassure him.

"Yea but I'm better than that and that's whats bothering me."

"Deebo it ok." I whispered but he heard it and cracked a small smile. I never call him that but I know that's one of his nicknames.

"Don't call me that. You sound funny saying it." He smiled.

"I just wanted to make you laugh or smile at least."
"I hate seeing you upset. When you're sad I'm sad." I frowned looking at him.

"I'll be ok. Plus you did make me smile."

"I'm glad I could help."

We chopped it up for a while. I told him that I spoke to my mom and everything else that happened and the usual stuff. He told me about some team mixer they were supposed to have tonight but he decided to stay back at the hotel.
