Paul awoke to the hot sun glaring in on him. he felt his arm was wrapped around something cold. he looked to his right and jumped.

he forgot she was here. 

he looked down at her, it was only right now when she realised how pretty she was. she had beautiful eyes, gorgeous hair, and skin as soft as silk. she was also well educated. last night she told him all sorts of things. some personal, some random facts, she really loosened up as the night went on.

she realised that he was not a threat.

she started to wake. her large eyes staring up at him. 

oh no. he thought, she will think i am such a creep just staring at her while she was sleeping. 

"hello" she said while giving a quick smile.

"hi" he said while looking at her, oh no your staring at her again, slowly look away, not fast like you're being rude, but so you are not being creepy and staring at her. 

"did you have a good night sleep?" she asked.

yes. she is talking to me now if i look at her it wont be creepy and i can....

"Paul are you alright?"

"hm... yes sorry could you repeat the question."

"i asked if you had a good night sleep?"

"oh yes. you are very cuddly." cuddly what is wrong with me. 

" you are very cuddly too, i guess."

the two of them both looked at each other for a moment before both bursting into a fit of giggles. they had only known each other for about nine hours and yet they were so close like they had known each other for a life time.

"hey Nyx," he started after they finished laughing, "i have a friend who has been away for a long time who is coming back today, and i want to you meet him."

Duncan had been away trying to locate and learn the ways of the fremen. 

the fremen are humans who have adapted their lives for living in the desert. they had bright stained blue eyes from all of the spice and they live in the heart of the dunes of Arrakis.

there was a small knock at the door. 

"come in"

a short lady with her hair in a bun walked in. 

"i have been sent to deliver clothes for the young female."

nyx stood up to help the woman walking over and taking the small bundle the woman was carrying. all of a sudden the woman grabbed her face. not a threatening grab, or a hurtful one. but one that made her really look from woman to woman. lady soon let go of her face. leaving the room muttering.

"too young, too too young, poor thing doesn't know what she has got herself into, poor poor thing,"

Paul and Nyx looked at each other in silence. they were too young for all this, and they both knew it.

"well umm.." Paul stuttered, "you can get washed and dressed in there." he said opening the door to the huge bathroom. "and i will sort myself out in here." 

as Nyx undressed herself, she looked at her scarred body. the tortures of the Bene Gesserit were cruel. her least favourite scar was her latest one. she did not know how she got it, but it crossed the inside of her thigh and ended at her knee. 

it was red. 

not a white silvery line like the others.

but a red - brown murky mess.

she shook herself off. as she finished getting dressed she heard a knock at the door. she only popped her head round as she was not covered. it was just Paul but still, she had standards for herself.

"hi, umm I'm just heading down to breakfast, umm you can come join me or just wait here and i will come meet you here."

"okay, umm thankyou."

and with that he left. 

she soon finished and decided to wait out on the balcony. she did not feel like eating breakfast so she decided to skip. she just stared out on to the dunes. watching as the waves of sand crashed with the wind. and how there was not a single life form as far as the eye could see.

it was too early for the spice harvesters to start work and no sandworms were in view. it was calm, and she liked that. some normality. some peace.

she couldn't quite see round the corner of the building but she could hear and see the sand fly up as something was landing.

just then Paul rushed into the room, nearly knocking over a random vase that was sat on a pillar next to the door.

"he is here."
