Korra's Sister (Sequel to Princess Kira)

Chapter 14

Outside the courthouse Aang and Kira stood arguing.

"I can't believe he got away again, how could you defend him?" Aang questions

"Wasn't my fault" Kira shrugs

"You lied Kira" Aang stares her down "you were there but you told the judge you didn't see anything"

"Cause I didn't" Kira folds her arms "we'll get him.. just trust me"

"I do trust you" Aang sighs "I don't get what game you're playing though"

"only the best" Kira replies before running off

Violet followed the mist downtown to a shop.

"What are you two doing here?" 

Aang and Kira turn to see Toph and several metalbending police officers.

"I told you, I have this under control" Toph looks annoyed

"Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't get involved, but if what those victims said is true, we're not dealing with a normal criminal" Aang responds

"And I expected you to know better Kira" Toph turns to the firelady "you're pregnant"

"1 month pregnant, not even a bump showing yet" Kira argues "so here I am"

"Fine" Toph sighs then smiles "Follow me" she walks ahead "You too Twinkle Toes"

"Toph, I'm forty years old. You think you could stop with the nicknames?" Aang questions annoyed

" 'Fraid not"  Toph and her officers walk in

The group approaches a table in Kwong's Cuisine, where the same man from the other scenes is eating.

"It's over! You're under arrest, Yakone!" Toph shouts

Yakone has his eyes closed and head down "What is Republic City coming to? Used to be, a man could enjoy his lunch in peace"

Toph bends a cable from a spool at her belt around his wrist and yanks him forward, knocking over his table. A policeman comes to tie his arms behind him.

"What's the big idea?" Yakone asks staring Kira down

"We have dozens of witnesses, Yakone. We know what you are." Aang tells him

"It was only a matter of time before you slipped up" Kira shrugs and looks at him "too many to count now"

"You witch" Yakone says to her as he was taken away "I've beaten every trumped-up charge you yahoos have brought against me! And I'll beat this one, too. Even without her."

"We'll see about that" Kira crosses her arms

The mist disappears and leads back to the courthouse.

"witch?" Violet mutters before heading back to the courthouse and this time went inside

"Yakone has ruled Republic City's criminal empire for years. Yet he has always managed to stay out of the law's reach, until now. You will hear testimony, from dozens of his victims, and they will tell you, Yakone has maintained his grip on the underworld by using an ability that has been illegal for decades" the attorney turns to the council, where Sokka is sitting "Bloodbending"

"The prosecution's entire case is built upon the make-believe notion that my client is able to bloodbend at will, at any time on any day. I remind the council that bloodbending is an incredibly rare skill and it can only be performed during a full moon. Yet, the witnesses will claim that my client used bloodbending at every other time except during a full moon. It would be a mockery of justice to convict a man of a crime that is impossible to commit" the defense attorney argued
