My scrutinizing gaze skimmed over the small group in front of me. I allowed myself a small smile when I saw their terrified expressions, their hate and anger overshadowed with fear. Good, they were afraid. They should've been.

After all, they were all going to die soon.

I searched the faces for any signs of possible retaliation or people who wanted to fight back. Those people would cause too many problems. They would have to be put down. As if they were reading my mind, a few people lunged forward at me.

Swearing under my breath, I stepped backward and snapped my fingers. A few shots rang out and the bodies dropped to the ground. One valuable thing my father taught me was that guns were just as good weapons as our powers. And it worked well for me, considering my only power was to be immune.

I met the huddling group's horrified looks with challenging eyes. There were a few that seemed considerably angry but they didn't make a move, instead standing stock-still. They would be stupid to make a move since they'd be shot at.

One of them included a girl with strawberry blonde hair, her face seemed to be set in a permanent scowl although that took away nothing from her beauty. She was holding two small boys close to her, letting them hold on to her legs.

I felt a flicker of interest stir inside of me but I pushed it away. I couldn't let my hormonal side take over me at that moment. Not when victory was so close within reach. I breathed in sharply and called Peter over. It was time to set everything into action.

Peter jogged over with a huge grin on his face. "What's up boss?"

It took effort not to roll my eyes at his enthusiasm. "I need you to send the message to Hailey right now. It's time for the Veiled to finally rise to power."

Peter frowned as created a water bubble in his hands. "And the Tempests, remember? And then we're moving onto the rest of America."

"Of course." I said, clearing my throat. Actually, I had no such intentions. My dad and I were planning to betray those idiots as soon as we formed an alliance. Although, I did have a feeling they suspected that but we would see. We had to win first and for that, prophecy girl had to come.

And my fiancée.

My hands curled into fists as I thought about the day she and her friend had run away. I had never been so angry in my life than I had at that moment. Hailey told me they had shoved her to the ground and ran when she tried to stop them. I believed her, she would never lie to me. She was the only person I could trust in this cold, dark world.

"Where's Derrick?"

Peter smiled broadly. "You mean my boyfriend?" This time, I did roll my eyes. The guy wouldn't quit using the word since he started dating Derrick. "He's keeping an eye on our hostages." His expression turned dark and ugly when he eyed the cowering group of people.

I laughed to myself. If there was one thing I liked about Peter, it was his common sense. Traitors were disgusting creatures, deserving death. Of course, we wouldn't kill everyone in the Omnipotent Camp. Where was the fun in that? Instead, these people would provide as an example and the rest could live in pain and under our control for the rest of their lives.

"Greg!" I looked up to see one of my scouts perched on top of the only tree we hadn't set on fire. "They're here."

I smirked. Of course they were. Prophecy girl was too kind to let a couple of people die for the greater good. She needed to save everyone. I gave Peter a look and he nodded, disappearing somewhere into the shadows. He would keep a watch outside the camp to make sure there were no surprise attacks.
