HICCUP'S POV

I scan the cliff side hurriedly searching for a place to hide. Oh Thor Almighty, I'm dead! I catch sight of a small crevice, smiling to myself.

"Come on Bud. In there." I point to where I'm looking. I may survive this after all.

"Hiccup!" A girl screams behind me. Crap.

"Toothless dive!" I command.

He jolts forward angling his large wingspan so that we can fit through the gap of the small cave opening.

"Plasma blast." I say.

A purple light shoots out in front of us, illuminating the cave walls. I pull back on Toothless as he lands, perching on a small, elevated rock pillar. I climb off his back, sitting on the ground in front of him. Toothless' ears perk up at the sound of a high pitched screech coming from the mouth of the cave. Toothless conceals me from view, wrapping his wings around me.

My heart beats uncontrollably in my chest. My blood pumping in my ears. This is it Hiccup. This is how you die. I always thought that it would be a dragon that killed me, like my mother; not my enraged girlfriend. Gods help me.

I peer out of the crack where Toothless' two wings meet. A blue Nadder sails by making me jump. I sit shaking in fear.

"Please don't find me. Please don't find me." I whisper wrapping my arms around my knees as I rock back and forth.

"I could have sworn I saw them come in here." Astrid says searching the cave for any signs of movement. She sighs, agitated, taking off again.

I stay silent for a while longer making sure I'm absolutely positive she's gone. Toothless releases me from his winged shield. I smile up at him, my heart rate slowing. I climb back on to his saddle, latching my peg leg to the pole that allows me to control Toothless' tail fin. We bound forward flying out through the hole Astrid must have taken a little ways down from where I had been hiding. We coast for a while as I try to figure out where we are.

"Hiccup! You are SO dead!" Someone calls.

I turn around to see Astrid spreeding toward me, still covered in the green paint that caused this whole situation.

"Oh shoot. I'm practically already dead. Just go ahead and bury me." I tell Toothless. He warbles in agreement.

The gang and I had been splattering the wild dragons with different colored paints so we would be able to know which island they were from. I saw a Nadder flying, so I threw one of my paint balls not realizing it was Stormfly I had seen. The paint had covered Astrid from head to toe, staining her clothes.

I dive, soaring close to the water, a large wake forming behind me. I don't pay attention to where I'm going. I just keep moving, trying the best I can to get away. With Astrid being the aggressor, it's a life or death situation. I notice an island, honing in on it. Maybe if I can make it to the tree line in time, I could possibly lose her again.

A screech sounds from behind. I crane my neck to see, realizing Stormfly is right above me, claws out. My eyes widen in fear. That's it. I'm done for. I catch sight of the large smirk plastered on Astrid's lips. I feel all the blood drain from my face. Toothless suddenly let's out a horrified scream. Astrid's expression shifts as well.

"Hiccup look out!"

I face front again in time to see us flying strait for the trees. I pull back quick enough to miss them.

"Hiccup! AHHHHH!" Astrid howls. She smashes into us as we plum it for the ground. I hit the hard dirt, rolling until I smack into the side of a bolder.
