An abundant of tears flowed as I walked towards Luke. "He had a seizure..." some unfamiliar voice said. I looked up and it was a guy I've never seen before. "...I was the one who noticed and I brought him here." I gave him a smile, a sign of gratitude.
"Luk-" I choked on my tears. I couldn't help but just cry. I've never seen him like this. His mom bumped my shoulder with a box of tissues. I gladly took a handful and wiped my tears. Only the heart moniter was heard, everyone else was quiet.
2 hours later. "Michael, son, we should go home for now." my dad said walking in for the second time. I nodded and stood up. "Luke you better be awake when I come here." I tried to smile.
We got home and I didn't even bother walking to my room. I fell asleep on the couch.
"Honey wake up." a soft voice said. In my mind I thought I was anywhere else but home. In reality though it was my mom nudging me to get off the couch. "Dear go upstairs, change, and sleep it must have been really uncomfortable on this couch." I did as I was told.
I woke up to the sound of my aunt yelling, "I'm gonna miss youuuuuuuuu sweeeetie pie." Then I rapidly searched for my phone. 3:46 PM I've slept for too long. Suddenly I remembered something... Luke. "DAD!" I yelled getting out of bed and picking up the nearest clothes that were suitable. "DAD! LETS GO TO THE HOSPITAL!"
My mom barged in and gave me a mixed of scared and confused look. "Mom, no time to explain but I have to go and visit Luke."
"Your dad is still asleep, I'll drop you off then."
"Thank you!" I gave her a kiss and we were off.
I reached at the hospital and instantly went to Luke's room, the sadness was overwhelming. In my guts I knew there was more bad news about to slap me in the face. "Oh, hello Michael." Luke's dad said. "Come sit down-" and he was interrupted by Luke's mom. I sat and listened. "Honey, the doctor came in and gave us the results." My eyes widened. "He said th-th-that he has..." it took her a few minutes to say it and I tapped my foot. "A brain tumour."
My heart dropped. I held my tears back and kept my strength. His mom stroked my back. "He'll be fine." she said. I dragged my chair towards Luke and sat beside him.
It has been hours and I fell asleep. "Michael?" I heard a familiar voice and immediately woke up. "Luke!" I hugged him. He was giggling, "You have some dribble." pointing on his cheek. I felt embarrased and wiped it. "So how are you?" I asked.
"Great, except the tumour that has nested in my brain."
"It will be alright, you'll be okay."
"Hopefully."
"Well it is 10 pm and I have babysitted you long enough, stay strong bud."
"Love you bud!"
I got dropped off and the house was completely silent. I made my way upstairs and tiredly sat on my chair logging on to check my messages. 2 notifications. Click.
ray-nbow02:"jk its not, but that stereotype is so annoying."
ray-nbow02: "anyways i completely forgot about the time difference lmao, i feel stupid. it wasn't even 6am here when i messaged you it was like 1pm. ughh"
And there I sat thinking about that too. Wow. I'm also stupid. She must be asleep by this time then. I played league for three more hours, not even thought about the fact that there is school tomorrow.
