It was... Puck? Wtf. "Puck, what are you doing?!" I screamed and pushed him off me.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Quinn asked.
"Yeah, but she's getting old. I was thinking about dumping her anyways."
"You're such a player!" I yelled and kicked him in the place. He fell on the floor and that's when Quinn and I had the chance to run away. I know we're going to get it tomorrow though. We ran to the car laughing and climbed in. "How dare he try to kiss me! And when he has a girlfriend!"
"Yeah, well it's Puck. He never learns."
"I guess not."
"Are you gonna tell Lauren?"
"I would just to see her beat the snot out of him but I don't want to hurt Lauren."
"Good idea."
At school the next day Puck didn't beat me up but he did break up with Lauren. Sam ignored me when I tried to talk to him.
"Mr. Schu, can I sing a song today," I asked.
"Sure," he replied.
I stood up. "I'm going to sing my favorite song If I Die Young." The music started and I sang.
"If I die young, bury me in satin. Lay me down on a bed of roses. Sink me in the river at dawn. Send me away with the words of a love song," I sang.
After the song was over I sat down and everyone clapped. Then the teacher had an amazing announcement. "Principal Figgins has asked me to pick one of you guys to perform a solo for an assembly. I was thinking that maybe Marissa should do it. If you'd like to," he said.
"Of course I would!"
"Great! Let's get practicing!"
"What song do I have to sing?"
"Doesn't matter. Any song you want."
"Awesome!" I stood up again. "Can I sing La, La, la?"
"Sure." The music started and I started to sing the whole song.
"Can't even hang out with friends without ya blowing up my phone. Why you all in my ear? Like where am I and when am I coming home? Why you listening to your friends? They don't want to see us be. Boy you better take it slow. Or I'll be history. You've got to give me my space. So quick to calling my name. Boy you've better recognize my love is one of a kind. You drive me up to the ceiling. Boy there's no need for the screaming. You know that you are my world but I'm sick and tired of the. La la la la la la la la. That's all I hear you saying. La la la la la la la la. Tired of the complaining. La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la. Why you up in my ear?" I sang.
I was walking around the room and having a good time. I think everyone else is too.
"So I went out to the club. I just want to have some fun. I guess someone told you I was with some other boy. 'Cause when I got back home. Put my foot through the door. All the lights came on. Then came the la la la la. Tired of the conplaining. La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la. Why you up in my ear?"
I walked over to Quinn and high fived her. This is so much fun! Everyone was dancing and laughing, even Rachel.
"Why you up in my ear? Why you up in my ear? So why you up in my ear? La la la la la la la la. That's all I hear you saying. La la la la la la la la. Tired of the complaining. La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la. Why you up in my ear?"
I finished the song and sat down. Everyone clapped and cheered. That was by far the most fun song I've ever sang while I've been here. Mr. Schu spoke. "All right! Marissa, I think we just found your song."
