The dying woman's husband called to her, she went by many names. Lady of the Forest was one such name, the man called to her by this name, pleading for help. She went to him that evening just as the sun had reached the horizon. She met him under the age old oak tree answering his calls.
He stood stunned and a little shaken. It looked as if he hadn't slept in days and maybe hadn't even eaten in that long as well. She worried for his health,
But only just.
He was after all mortal and his death would be in a blink of her time; the memory of this meeting however,
She thinks,
Will never be forgotten by her or her people, for this meeting will put into motion a chain of events that will forever alter fairy and mortals lives, forever.
"I need your help." The man said once he'd collected himself enough to talk. "My wife she's... sick," After a moment to collect himself as a wave of grief washed over him he continued on with his sad tale. "...The doctors say she's not going to make it."
"If she's on the cusp of death I cannot pull her back from the abyss." She told him and turned to leave their conversation was over, she could be of no assistance to him and thus whatever he had to offer in return would not be taken of equal grounds.
"N-no please wait you don't understand!" He reached out towards her but hesitated. "S-she's with child!" The woman stopped and stared ahead of herself as the man continued. "My wife is due any day now; the doctors say my child will have the same issues as my wife. I-I can't lose her too." The woman turned back to him. She gazed into his eyes with great intensity.
"This sickness, it would be a death sentence to the child?" She questioned and the man nodded eagerly.
"Y-yes, she won't make it." He hesitated, "And if she does she won't have an easy life." The woman nodded slowly.
"Bring the child here once it is born, leave it for the night and come back before day break. Your child will be well."
"You lied to me!" The man shouted at the age old oak tree in a fit of anger and rage. Years had passed but this place hadn't changed, not one bit. "You lied to me! You said she'd be better, you said you'd make my daughter healthy!" His shouts were met with silence.
"You lied! That's not my daughter! It's some-some kind of monster!" More silence answered his screams. The man looked the tree up and down as he panted out his breathes. "Say something!"
Nothing.
The man left, vowing to gain vengeance for what they did to him and his family.
The woman watched the man walk away with a cool expression holding a sleeping infant girl in her arms. "Foolish man, don't you know fairies can't lie." A sly grin slipped across her face as she looked down to the child. "I will keep your daughter healthy...As promised."

So as the description says. I'm not sure if I'll continue this on Wattpad, it is the third book in the series for Little Red and The Woodsman so maybe people want to know more...? Idk it's not going to be about Haven or Hunter but it does follow a Grimm Brother's fairytale... so their is that. However it is going to have characters from Little Red and The Woodsman show up randomly (not so randomly) so there's that too. Let me know what you think, do you want to see more of this twisted tale?
