C H A P T E R 8

Third person POV:
It had been a couple of weeks since Jayla and Star had almost kissed but ever since then things have been off, Jayla has been very distant and would try and avoid Star.
Star has been wanting to reach out and try to sort things out but Star wants to give her space, but there's so much Jayla doesn't know that star wished she did.

Star, Javon and Jaden had gotten even closer within those few weeks but Star only wanted to talk to Jayla.
Javon told her that Jayla has been very distant with him and Jaden aswell. So whenever Star wanted to hang out with them they would always come to her house or go out instead of going to their house so Jayla didn't have to see her, even if they had to see eachother every other day at school.

Stars mother came home about a week after they had all hung out, and of course she came home with gifts, Star had gotten a few pair of jeans she's been wanting, a new pair of shoes, and of course a few new vapes.
But after her mother had come back she only stayed for a week, restocked the cupboard and fridge then left again.
But this time she hasn't came back,
although she knows something Star doesn't.

Stars mother does feel bad for leaving her all the time, but it's for the best... well atleast she thinks it is, but this time stars mother had done something extremely nice for Star before she left but Star doesn't know yet.

There's so much Star has been wanting to tell Jayla but she didn't know how.

Stars POV:
It's been about 2 weeks since I've been suspended and since my mother left again, I haven't really been showing up to school, I didn't have the energy to, I didn't have the energy to do anything really.

The only thing I have been doing is FaceTiming Astra, she always knows how to put a smile on my face without even trying, she's been keeping up to date about what's happening in Australia, and I've updated her on the Jayla situation.
She thinks I like her but I don't believe one bit of it.

It's about 3 in the morning for me and I was still on FaceTime with Astra but it was probably around 7pm for her. She was packing, but when I asked where she was going she just said down to her grandmas house in another state of Australia.

"Have Nate and Cody been replying to you, they've seemed a bit distant today?" I asked her and she shook her head no. "Nate might be grounded and uhm Cody is probably just high off his mind again" "true" "don't you have school soon" she asked and I nodded "I'm probably not gonna go though" "why?" "I dunno I haven't gone for a few days, I just haven't felt up to it recently" I explained "are you going through an episode again?"

I'm not bipolar or anything but I guess sometimes people just get into depressive stages where they don't have any energy to do anything but be by themselves and occasionally text some people, or call their comfort people.

I shrugged "I'm not sure"

Third person POV:
Astra was Stars comfort person, Astra always knew how to make her feel better and she was always there for her no matter what, she was honest, and caring.
Not the type of caring where you hug or anything.
Star and Astra never hugged eachother, it was always to awkward.

I guess that's what she liked because sometimes you don't want a hug you just want to talk about it and make jokes, that's exactly what they did together.

Star would forever be grateful for Astra, even if Astra would never know it.

Stars POV:
"Okay, I have to go I'll talk to you later though" Astra said and I nodded then waved.

Third person POV:
Star looked at the time 3:04am but she wasn't tired and she had nothing to do in her room so she decided to grab her vape, and a blanket then go downstairs, putting the aircon on and putting on her comfort movie, Harry Potter.

Like Astra, Harry Potter was also a comfort to her, she never knew why, but she loved it, it made her feel safe.

Star finished the first movie, still not being tired, she looked at the time, 5:36am, so she put on the next one, Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets.

A bit through she heard a knock on her door, it was about 6am, so she got up checked through the window and saw Javon.

Stars POV:
I looked like shit but oh well. I opened the door for him and he was holding 2 drinks, and food.

Javon saw me "you look like shit" he said smiling, "arent you a sweetheart" I told him moving aside so he can walk in, and as I went to close the door I looked to see if Jaylas car was out there, it wasn't.

"Eat breakfast with me" Javon said sitting on the couch putting the food and drinks on the coffee table.
I went and sat down next to him.
"Iced Carmel latte, and waffles since you said you were craving them the other day" Javon said smiling putting my things infront of me.

"Thank you".
He got his food and put it infront of him.
"What're you watching" "Harry Potter wanna watch it with me?" I asked and he nodded and he grabbed the remote unpausing it as it was closest to him.

We sat in silence eating out breakfast watching Harry Potter.
"Are you going to school today?" He asked and I shook my head no "you?" "I can if I want to but mum and dad said I can go hang out with you today since you've been off recently." I nodded "so are you gonna stay?" "Do you want me to?" I shrugged my shoulders "I don't mind".

"I'll stay, I really don't want to deal with math by myself" he said smiling at me nudging my arm and I slightly smiled back.
He knows I haven't been myself recently so every few days him or Jaden drop by a coffee for me sometimes with some food but they've never really eaten with me.

We both finished our food and just sat back sharing a blanket watching Harry Potter.
I always saw Javon and Jaden as brothers I don't think i could ever see them as anything more, or anything less.

We finished Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets.
"How's Jayla" I asked still looking at the tv, he turned to look at me so I did the same "she isn't great, I can tell she misses you" he said, I don't think Javon really knows what happened before us but he knows something isn't right.
"I've seen her looking at photos and videos of you two".
"I miss her" I told him, and he nodded, "I know you do" he could tell I seemed upset by the topic so he came closer to me and gave me a hug.

When he did that I could feel a tears fall from my cheek, I sniffled trying not to make a sound so he wouldn't notice, but I think he did as he started rubbing my back swaying us side to side. "I love you" he said and paused "I mean as a sister, not in like I have a crush on you way" he said stumbling over his words, we pulled away and I rubbed the tears laughing slightly at what he said.

"I love you too, as a brother" and he laughed and got up holding his hand out, "come on you need a shower, you look like shit" I rolled my eyes grabbing his hand as we went upstairs.

Him and Jaden had been to my house multiple times and know exactly where basically everything is and how everything works.

We walked into my room and he walked straight into my bathroom lighting one of my relaxing candles, turned on my bathroom led lights and put a clean towel down on the bench starting the water so it can warm up by the time I got in.

Third person POV:
Javon knew Star was in a bad stage right now and she just needed time so he wanted to help.
He helped her pick out her clothes as he was going to take her out for the day, he sat Star down on a chair and started taking her hair out and brushing it so it would be okay for her to wash it.

Javon acted like a brother to Star, and she really appreciated it.

Thank you guys for reading this chapter, I definitely have things aligned for further chapters. But I also wanted to include on how close Javon and Star are.
THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO FEELINGS TOWARDS EACHOTHER. I just wanted to say that because sometimes it does seem like they're flirting but trust me they aren't.
