Lauren's POV

The car ride up to the campgrounds had been filled with many stops for food, blasting of our favorite songs, and sharing about every hilarious memory we could think of. We ended up having to cram the rest of the gang into the party van as well. You could say it was a packed car, which only made it that much more fun. If I hadn't been driving, then I would have been rolling on the floor, crying from laughing so hard. Not only had we shared hilarious moments from our past but we gained a new one on the trip up there.

Shelby, Luke, Paige, Seth, and Bryce were in the middle listening to Shelby ramble on and on about her endless boyfriends. Cameron, Hope, Nathan, and Aimee were in the back playing some game on Cameron's phone. I was carrying on a conversation with Emily who was in the passenger seat when this idiot ran a red light into the intersection our van was entering. The second I saw him, I slammed on the brakes to avoid an accident. At the exact moment, Luke laid down, sadly, saying he lost his lucky rabbit's foot, Shelby decided to spray an overwhelming amount of her perfume, and Cameron shouted excitedly from the back, "YAHTZEE!!!"

After the initial shock of what almost happened, we had to pull into the nearest gas station because we were all in fits of giggles. That moment was hilarious! Of course, I wouldn't expect less from a ride with my best friends in the party van.

"So much for not getting into an accident Lauren!" Cameron called from the back.

"Hey!" I yelled back, adjusting my rear view mirror to look at him. "We didn't get in an accident...we ALMOST got into an accident. Those are two totally different things." I said and put my nose in the air while poking my tongue out at him.

Everyone just laughed at us and eventually we all went back to what we were doing before the ALMOST accident. I couldn't help but smile, thinking back over what has already happened just on the drive up to the camp. I could only hope that the rest of the summer would be just as fun as that car ride.

The moment we walked into the cabins gasps were heard throughout the group. I'd been to this camp a few times but not since I was 10 and being 17 now, I had forgotten just how beautiful the cabins themselves were. I did recognize new furniture though.

The doors open to a main living room area to the left, to the right was the dining room and off that was a door that led to the kitchen. If you continued to walk straight from the door you would find 2 doors opposite each other, they each led to a staircase. The right was to the girls rooms and the left was to the boys. Just beyond those doors were two more doors, the left was a sitting room and the right was the sun room. This place was amazing. I wanted to live here forever.

Since I knew my way around, I got a grip on my bags and took off for the stairs, knowing that if I was the first up there, I would get dibs on whatever bed I wanted. As I was running I yelled back to everyone who was standing confused at the door. " Girls rooms up the stairs on the right, guys room on the left!"

I was already half way up the stairs when I finally heard everyone tear towards their assigned rooms.

"Hope! Emily! Run into the room on the left! Aimee, Paige, Shelby! You guys get the room on the right!"

Reaching the top of the stairs I ran down the hall and quickly turned into the room on my left. It was beautiful! It had a light blue and brown theme to it. There were 3 beds in a row with a small dresser straight across from them. Straight from the doorway there was a great view of the lake and a window seat under the big window.

Emily and Hope both entered the room laughing and immediately froze once the caught site of where we were going to be staying for the summer. "Oh. My. Gosh." They said together dropping their bags. I couldn't help but laugh. Their reaction was perfect!
