Donnie and Raph quickly and carefully carried their older brother to the Lab, with Splinter and Mikey following behind. The orange masked turtle watched as his two older brothers set Leo on the medical table, causing him to wince in pain. "Sorry about that, Leo." Donnie said. "It's fine, really..." Leo said. "I'm more worried about Alex than my own pain at this moment." he admittedly added. Splinter turned to face his youngest son. "Michelangelo, could you go fetch your brother?" he requested. "I must speak to him."

"Sure thing, Sensei." Mikey beamed and dashed out of the lab. However, as he stepped in front of Alex's doorway, the baby blue-eyed turtle's confidence dropped. The door was locked, and whenever Alex isolated himself from the others, it was never a good sign. "Man, Alex must be going hard on himself for what he did." Mikey thought. "I know it was an accident, but he should know that Leo's gonna be okay in the end, right?" the freckled turtle continued to think to himself.

Mikey shook his head, freeing himself from his thoughts before knocking on his older brother's bedroom door. "Hey Alex? It's Mikey." he said. "I wanna talk..." Mikey finished softly in a mutter. After an eternity of a moment passed, the soft sound of Alex's bedroom door creaking open echoed, drawing Mikey's attention and filling his baby blue eyes with hope. He looked to see Alex's face peeking from the side of the door, and Mikey's hope vanished just as fast to when it came.

Alex's cerulean blue eyes were all red and puffy from crying, his black-and-blue mask stained from his tears along with his cheeks dried from its tracks. "What do you want?" he asked in a bitter and shaky tone. "I-I just wanted to check on you..." Mikey said nervously. "I'm fine Mikey," Alex responded. "Now go and leave me alone." he said coldly as he shut the door on his baby brother's face.

"O-Okay, I-I'll come back and check on you later..." Mikey said sadly, his voice broken and sounding as if he were about to cry. He looked down with sad eyes and his short orange mask tails drooped as if they had emotion themselves. "I guess he's not fine..." The freckled turtle softly said to himself as he sadly walked off. Alex overheard Mikey's tone of voice from outside of his room and looked down in regret. "I shouldn't have yelled at Mikey..." he thought. "It's going to take some time before I actually talk to him again..." Alex sighed and laid in his bed, feeling much more regret than he did during his training session with Leo. "What's wrong with me...?"

Mikey sadly walked back into the Lab, which caught Raph and Splinter's attention. "Michelangelo? Where is your brother?" Splinter asked. Mikey said nothing and sadly shook his head. Raph noticed his little brother in angst and knew right away that something happened. "You okay, little brother?" he asked the orange masked turtle. "Alex is being hard on himself for what happened." the freckled turtle responded in a soft and sad voice. Hearing this, Splinter looked down and muttered to himself in Japanese, "I was afraid that this would happen..."

Tears began to stream down Mikey's cheeks, deepening Raph's concern. He then pulled his brother close in an embrace as he let Mikey cry on his shoulder, caring less about Leo, Splinter and even the once-distracted Donnie looking over. "I just want Alex to know that everything will be okay..." Mikey softly cried. "I know you do, bro." the hothead said as he soothingly rubbed his brother's shell. After a moment, Raph and Mikey broke the hug, and the younger dried off his tears.

Raph looked over and saw both his older and younger brothers looking at him with slight smirks, causing the red masked turtle to growl lowly. "You better have a good reason why you're giving me that look, Don." he barked. "No reason, Raph." Donnie said with a slight chuckle. "But Leo is going to be alright." he added. "You sure, Donnie?" Mikey asked.

"I'm just a little sore, Mikey." Leo said. "And Leo didn't sustain any serious injury after Alex blasted him into the dojo tree." the genius added. "But why the heck did he do it in the first place?" Raph asked. "Alex got angry at me, Raph. It wasn't his fault." the leader replied. Leo then looked down sadly. "I shouldn't have made him angry from the start..." "There is no one to blame for the situation, my son." Splinter said, walking over to his blue masked son and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. Leo looked up at Splinter, knowing that he had a share in the recent situation.

"Ever since we all learned of your brother's power, I fear that he would eventually lose himself in all of his internal and external conflict." Splinter said. "Now that you mention it Sensei, that explains why Alex has been hard on himself lately." Donnie said. "But I fear that he is losing his grip on his powers." Splinter added. "What do you mean by that, Master Splinter?" Raph asked.

"With all these recent events, your brother has been hard on himself and losing sense of his spiritual self." the rodent responded. He looked down and sighed, "He could lose control of his powers and cause harm to all of you without knowing it."

"That explains why Alex had that weird power surge and hurt Leo." Mikey exclaimed. "Exactly my point, Michelangelo." Splinter said. "If this continues, I fear your brother's own power would take over and kill him." he added, finishing his sentence in a somber tone. This news shocked the four teenage mutant terrapins. The thought of losing the brother they lost over sixteen years ago is unbearable. The brothers can't afford to lose Alex yet again. "We're not going to let that happen." Leo said tenaciously. Splinter nodded in agreement. "As long as we support your brother and he lets go of the struggles of his past, his power will blossom and aid him into a bright future." he added.

"Was this what you've been meaning to talk to Alex about?" Mikey asked his father figure. Splinter nodded and looked at each of his sons. "A warrior's strongest power comes from within, which sources from the love he feels from his family." he said. "Don't ever forget that my sons, for it is the true beauty of your power." The Turtles all smiled and bowed their heads as their father figure walked out of the lab.

As the day went on, Alex has yet to leave his room since the incident with Leo in the dojo. The four Turtles and Splinter were all concerned for Alex and hoped that he'd eventually come out of his room and enjoy the rest of the day with his family. However, what happened that morning between him and Leo, as well as Mikey, clearly struck a bad nerve. This was when the Turtles realized that helping their brother overcome his own struggles was not going to be an easy task.

Nighttime came and Alex has still not left his room. As the red masked turtle went to his room for the night, Raph decided to check in on Alex. He opened Alex's bedroom door slightly, only to find Alex lying on his bed, seemingly fast asleep. "He's probably asleep already," Raph thought. "I hope things get better for him in the morning." The bright green-eyed turtle quickly looked around and quietly snuck into his little brother's room. Raph reached Alex's bedside and carefully placed the comforter over him. "Hopefully, we'll see you tomorrow morning..." the hothead thought. Raph carefully made his way out of the room and looked back at Alex one last time before closing the bedroom door.

Truthfully, Alex was still awake. His eyes were closed, but he struggled to fall asleep for a lot was on his mind. One of them was the nightmare he had of Karai the other night, and then it hit him. "Karai...!" Alex whispered. "I have to save her before Shredder uses those brain worms on her!" the black-and-blue masked turtle quickly got out of bed and pressed his ear against the door. Everything was quiet, and it seemed like Raph had gone into his room for the night, along with the rest of their siblings and Splinter.

Alex quickly geared up as he sheathed his blade and equipped a few shuriken. He looked down at one of the small weapons in his hand. It was engraved with the Hamato Clan symbol along with all of the other throwing stars that Splinter provided to his sons. Alex quietly sighed and placed the last shuriken in his belt. His stomach grumbled as soon as he walked out of his bedroom. "I haven't eaten since breakfast." Alex thought and made his way to the kitchen.

Alex opened the fridge and sees a single slice of New York style cheese pizza, sitting in the cooling unit. "Mikey must have gotten full and saved a slice for breakfast again." he thought. "Either that, or he was generous enough to save a slice for me." Regardless, Alex reached for the pizza slice and ate it quietly as he made his way out of the kitchen. The cerulean blue-eyed turtle shoved the last of the pizza crust in his mouth. Alex then quietly sneaked out of the Lair, through the sewers, up to the surface and traveled through the rooftops to Shredder's lair.
