Golden play
I will never forget that golden day
You're there beside me, practicing the script for a play
I told you, follow my lead and just sway
To the beat of the lover's music, my love to convey
This weird feeling started at the director's call
We both stood, the characters as the main roles
I watched you wrap a silver shawl
Never realizing I've been captivated at all
We both knew we're only following what's written
The burning desire to tell you, I kept it hidden
That in every whispers of love from the script, you listen
For in you I know I'm dead and smitten
The golden day has come, the people cheered
Every characters took their last bow, this I feared
Realization hit me when the curtain appeared
The play has come to an end, my eyes teared
Everybody packed their things and left the room
I tried to delay time because I want to talk to you so soon
I sulked in the corner, tried removing my costume
My muscles tensed when behind me, I sensed that sweet perfume
Can you spare me a moment, that's what you said
I felt my blood ran from my toes to my head
Yes, what do you wished to talk about? keeping the feelings unsaid
You whispered, I've been loving you for so long and used this play to tell you instead
