HIM AND I

Chapter 20

" Look at them. Their are many signs, Wetsy. " He says surely. 

" What if it's just a crush? " I ask randomly. I see Gavin's shoulder shaking while his face is lying on the desk. " What? What's so funny about it? " I ask him, clearly frustrated. He pulls me down by my arm, making my head to lie on the desk towards his face. Our faces are inches apart. His hot breathe tickling on my skin like a fire flame. 

" Crushes are just illusions, Wetsy. If you have feelings for someone, you'll eventually know it. As in for Love, it is a different kind of feeling. I myself am not sure about it, you know. I have never experienced it.. " He says as looks deep in my eyes. I normally feel too exposed in eye contacts but not with him.

" Love is a kind of feeling people write novels about. Love is a feeling that can kill and make you feel alive at the same time. Love is a beautiful kind of pain, Gavin. " I say as I feel my eyes water. Gavin senses it too because he changes the topic.

" Well, I have this talent to tell whether a person has a crush on the other person or not. " He says with haughtiness. I roll my eyes at him.

" How's that possible? " I ask him curiously. A well know smirk appears on his lips.

" So, through this talent. I can tell by looking at YOU that you have a crush on me! " He says thoughfully and I feel my body lightening. A smile appears on my face and I can feel my face getting warm." Jesus, no. I can't believe it's true. Really? I knew it, to- " 

" Shut up, Prick. It's not true! What if I am having a crush on somebody else. Seriously, I don't even like you! " I argue with him.

" Whatever helps you sleep at night, Wetsy... Oh that's actually ME who again helps you sleep. " He winks at me and I hit on his arm with my book. 

We argue like that for the rest of the class. For a minute, I forgot everything. Just everything. All my problems and bullshit. We laughed, flirted and argued but most of all. I didn't think of my past or future, any other thing for that matter. 

In the recess, 

" Hi " I say to all the girls sitting in our table. I notice everybody's looking at me like I am crazy or something.. 

" Oh my god. I love you! It's official, I am marring this garl! " Chelsea shouts from her seat. Of course, she does. She left me alone yesterday! She starts dancing in the cafeteria and drags me with her to dance in the middle of the cafeteria without music. UGH. But I still dance because how can I say no to this human. We both sing loudly and dance in the song - TRUE LOVE by P!NK. We both practically shout on our lungs. Right after this song ends, we sing BEST FRIEND by Saweetie. Emma and Eva also joins us by then.

All 4 of us dance and sing other songs. Even though people are looking at us, some are even making videos of us. We just laugh and chill. I needed coffee earlier after studying maths but now I realise I needed my besties not the coffee. I'll still get one later;) Suddenly, the attention is completely drawn towards the door as some guys enter the cafeteria. We all know very well who those guys are, who else can get the attention from us to themselves. My eyes connect with Gavin's green ones and I see that worried look on his face again. 

Something has happened. All of us sit at our normal sits. Ryle and Chelsea sitting on my sides as Gavin sits in right in front of me. I look at Ryle who winks at me as I smile. We all have weird ways of greeting each other and I know why's that. Because no one of us care. 

" Well, there's a problem. " Ryle breaks the silence, looking around at anywhere but Gavin. Gavin and he then have some silence communication then he nods and turn towards me. 

" So, the thing is- "

" Can I have a cheese burger with french fries and a diet coke. Also, this mcflurry..." We all look at Chels as she orders food. Then she turns, " do you guys need anything? " She asks. Marcus groan painfully loud while Ryle shakes his head. Emma and Eva can barely control their laughs while Blake is looking at Chels like she has 3 heads. Gavin and I just look at each other. Our eyes connecting. His eyes flicker on my lips and I realise I have been biting it. I take the coffee I bought earlier and drink it. I think I am gonna need more of this. 

" Are you done, Chels? " Ryle asks looking at Chelsea for the permission. She nods and Ryle clears his throat. 

" So, Allie.. Well.. You know you came to college with Lockwood today. All the fellows in the college know about it. And some of them are haters of Gavin " I look at Gavin who is already staring at me. " So, well there are some rumors about you and Gavin.. You .. just don't mind them. " I advert my gaze from Gavin and look at Ryle.

" I won't mind it. Why would I? I don't care what they say. " He nods and start typing something in his phone. A devious smile spreads on his face. I eat the sandwich, I got earlier. 

" Oh don't worry. It's taken care of. " He says while putting his phone in his hoodie. He then snatches my half eaten sandwich and take a big bite from it. This guy Ryle might look like a 21 year freaking player but he is a 5 year kid from inside! No wonder there..

We continue talking about the trip to Vegas which is next weekend. All of us agree on our studying for the test on Monday. I can't believe we have tests next whole week before our vacations. No wonder why Chels is so excited about this trip. I have no idea about my vacations, though. Everybody love vacations but I feel like I'd rather work and explore something new. As I am thinking about it, my eyes catch Gavin staring at me. I just don't want to go to my house.. not right now. I guess, I am spending the vacations here in my campus. I exhale a relief. I then ask others for their numbers to save in the phone. Gavin and I decide to study for the test.

 I finally help him practice with the test after classes get over.

A WEEK LATER,

Finally. The tests got over. I jump on my bed and lie down on my stomach for a few minutes. It's too quiet here, of course it will be. Nobody's here. The girls are gone to shop for the trip, while the guys have practice today. I walk and stand on the balcony of our dorm. It shows beautiful view of the city. There is a cute library right in front of our building. It's 8 or something right now. I don't care, though. A small flower shop right next to the library and my eyes catch the deep red roses.

I open my bag and look at the two last pills. I lost the third in the cafe but whatever. As I take the pill in my hand, my door of the dorm opens. I quickly put the pills in the bag. 

" Hello, love. We got all the stuff we'll need. " Cheslea says as she sits on my bed. Emma and Eva enters the room.

" Yeah. she is right. She got a whole pack of condoms. " Emma says while shaking her head. Eva laughs, making me laugh with her. 

" Wait. I didn't get to ask this earlier but what about the rooms? " I ask Chels. 

" Oh don't worry. Gavin is booking them but I have a plan. Just hope it gets successful! I can't believe I am going to VEGAS, BABY! " Chels starts clapping her hands and we all laugh. Few minutes later, guys enter our dorm with 8 big pizza boxes. We all just chill that night. 

I got to know many things about all of my friends this week. Clearly, Ryle is a rich bastard. His dad owns a business of cars. He has everything he needs. Ryle and Gavin became friends in college, freshman year. As in for Marcus, his parents own their own firm in Australia which is cool. Blake's dad is a well known architecturer. His dad also own an industrial firm. Blake and Marcus knew Gavin from High School. Blake has always been close friends with Gavin. Marcus's and Blake's dad has a good relation with Gavin's dad. Another point for them to be this much close. 

As I lay in my bed later that night, I just really hope things will change.. I just don't want to remember my past. Like ever. My minds then drifts to the rooftop guy, who still is a mystery;)
