Pure Poison

Chapter 3

It was a fine morning the sun was hot and beamed on us and the wind was cooling. I decided not to bath because we were already going to bathe. I went to Athena's shrine and prayed for our safety today, I knew that whatever happened we have to be wary and keep our wits about us. I stood up in fount of the life like Athena statue and gazed into her eyes, it must be great to be living in Olympus and have to worries and no responsibilities, I have heard that you eat from gold plates and drink from gold cups and bathe in the best bathing pools. "hey! come on we have to get there early if we want to bathe in the new pool!", Euryale Shouted from the front of the temple. "grr.....coming!!", I groaned. I followed Euryale down the cobblestone street and down to the edge of the dark forest. "are you sure the bathing pool is safe", I asked. "look I saw it and it looks fine what could be wrong", Euryale said. I was seriously worried for she hasn't experienced the dark forest and its dangers enough to be wary, she could easily be mistaken. We wondered down through the winding woods, The trees were always bent awkwardly to look like they were going to grab you any second, draping the sky and concealing us were the trees dark leaves, I was once told that they were poisonous to humans if you ate them, I never went near them again. we were coming to a clearing when I spotted the huge bathing pool and it looked amazing, but little did I know that over the other side of the trees in the clearing was the river Euenos. I walked down to the waters edge and dipped my foot in, the clearness of the water was amazing and the warmth of the water heated by the sun! The pool was relatively large with beautiful willow trees lining it, at the edge by a huge rock was a beautiful waterfall and the water seamed to gleam. I waded over to it and cupped my hands and drank the cool soothing water. I turned around to wave at Stheno and Euryale , and then it happened, a huge hand grabbed me by the waist and hauled me into the waterfall for those few seconds I felt a finger sliding up my leg but I quickly kicked it off. I heard my sisters screaming to me but when ever I opened my mouth to scream it filled with water and nearly choked me. Then finally we burst through the waterfall and I got the fist look at my kidnapper. he smiled a scary look and said "well well.... I didn't think that I would get the pleasure of catching three beautiful maidens like you" he said "what fun I will have with you", he smiled again but right at me. "Nassus put me down!", I said. "I'm surprised you know my name not many do just being the ferry driver for the river Euenos", Nassus replied. He was a centaur and a very big and strong one at that, I barely had any chance against him, and because we thought it would be safe we forgot our weapons, I had brought my dagger but It had fallen from my hands when I was grabbed. "right what shall I do first to you?", he said looking at me. "I said put me down you ugly beast or else!!!", I shouted. "oh!! now I'm offended! you know what I'm going to do? .......strip you of your clothes and your title as Phorkys daughter you will be in disgrace", he smiled. I gulped I knew I had no way of saving myself and no one to save me and if he did take my title of being pure from me? where would I go? then suddenly I heard horses hoof beats and I know Nassus heard them because he grew a worried face, the good thing is is I have noticed that Nassus whispers to himself when he's worried, "what was that? I have to get out of hear, I can't get caught again ... whisper whisper.....I will have to get out of hear", he whispered to himself. then a huge brown horse leaped out of the bushes and landed on the bank, "I heard screaming", Nile said. "Nile! thank Zeus! Help me!!!", I screamed. "oh-no you don't!", said Nessus and with that Nessus turned and galloped past my sisters and up towards our village with me in his hand!, I was so scared what was going to happen? he could destroy our village and what would he do to me? the ground was flying past meters from my feet, I screamed till my voice grew dry and could take no more! then I heard shouting and sure enough to my right galloping along side Nessus was Nile! "I thought you were going to leave me!", I shouted. "leave the girl I have a crush on to get hurt by another guy I don't think so!", Nile shouted. then he stabbed his sword into Nessus arm the and he released me from his grasp and then he started to scream as the pain of the sword started to kick in, when he released me I got to breathe fully again I didn't realise how much he was crushing me with his strength. then I was falling and the height to fall was far! just as I thought I was dead, some arms caught me and gently clutched me. Nessus fell to the ground crying out and in a matter of minuets he bled to death, his fate got him back.
