I cry into his chest. Just like the day of the Calamity. Sure he was saved then, but there's no Impa to put Link in the Shrine of Resurrection this time. No help. No hope.

Why does Link have to leave me?
Why is it that he dies defending me and I'm left crying into his chest?
Why does he love me, a worthless princess, an heir to a throne of nothing?

Some time later, I hear something. A quiet humming. The humidity in the air rises, and I look up to see green and blue coalesce into the likeness of Mipha, her hand outstretched. I stand up and back away, gasping. Mipha puts her hand on Link's chest, and a pulse of blue-green energy flashes.
Link pulls in a breath. Breathes out. Mipha let's go of Link, looks me dead in the eye, and says in her sweet, soft voice, "Take care of him, Zelda." Then, she vanishes into the air, leaving a breathing boy and a blood-stained princess in her wake.
Okay, okay, I know that this one was short; it was for dramatic effect.
